The Intel Security Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Database Administrator. Are you a Database Administrator that likes to work with big data to produce analysis and visualizations? Would you like to support a major program advancing the state of the art in mission-focused big data analytics and predictive analytics? If so, you will be delivering advanced database administrator capabilities to push forward national security objectives, swiftly produce and analyze results, disseminate findings, and contribute to presentations with actionable intelligence insights. The successful candidate will work on projects to design, develop, and deploy big data analytic and visualization products to support DIA/NDOC OSINT production on behalf of the Defense Intelligence Enterprise (DIE). This position will be located at one of our customer sites in Bethesda, MD; Reston, VA; or Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, DC.

Responsibilities Include:
Perform daily database administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of system database and replication issues.
Design, develop, and manage databases that optimize queries, ensure data backup and security compliance.
Document data models and schemas, monitor performance, and produce compliance policies.
Perform system updates and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) patching.
Troubleshoot and resolve database problems.
Perform database recovery actions.
Modify existing database scripts to enhance systems support and create new database scripts for recurring database issues.
Develop and execute SQL queries for routine and ad hoc requests.
Transition/ingest legacy data.
Translate requirements and data into usable database schemas by creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts and macros, making updates to existing queries, and creating new queries to manipulate data into a master file.
Recommend design and implementation practices that optimize the performance of GOTS/COTS databases and applications.
Assist in the development of database structures that fit into the overall architecture of the system under development.
Assist in developing databases, database parser software, and database loading software.
Clearance Required:
Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical discipline and 4 years of experience. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree are acceptable.
Candidates with a minimum of 3 years of recent experience in the field will be considered.
Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Due to the nature of the government contracts we support, US Citizenship is required.
Experience designing, developing, and managing databases that optimize queries, ensure data backup and security compliance.
Must have in-depth experience implementing and maintaining database security.
Document data models and schemas, monitor performance, and produce compliance policies.
Experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
In-depth experience conducting database performance tuning and monitoring.
Must have in-depth experience troubleshooting and resolving database problems/issues.
Experience installing, configuring, and upgrading RDBMS software.
Must have experience with procedural languages such as PL/SQL.
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical discipline.
Minimum 8 years of experience in the field with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
A significant share of your data analytics experience in direct support of military or intelligence community customers, demonstrating progressive technical development and mission-focused outcomes.
Significant experience dealing with at least two of the following data classes: open source, publicly available information (PAI); forensic media (i.e., DOMEX); measurement and signatures intelligence (MASINT); or cybersecurity and cyber forensics
Experience supporting data pipelines across multi-enclave DoD environments.
Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience supporting AI/ML data preparation and feature engineering workflows.
Experience working with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and lineage concepts.
Experience creating dashboards and prototype web applications with technologies such as Kibana, Tableau, of Power BI.
Experience operating within Agile or SAFe environments supporting enterprise systems.
