Role Summary
Mavenir is looking for a highly skilled Couchbase ,NoSQL Cassandra/ScyllaDB Database Administrator with strong Linux administration, Kubernetes or AWS experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing NoSQL databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability while also handling Linux-based infrastructure and cloud deployments. This role involves database performance tuning, automation, and container orchestration.Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and manage Couchbase,Cassandra/ScyllaDB clusters in production
- Design and implement replication, sharding, and multi-data center strategies
- Optimize query performance, data modeling, and partitioning strategies
- Automate database management using Ansible, Terraform, or Python
- Perform backup, restore, and disaster recovery planning
- Troubleshoot database issues, manage schema changes, and monitor cluster health
- Configure and maintain networking, security policies, and performance tuning.
- Deploy and manage databases on AWS (EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM, CloudWatch).
- Set up auto-scaling, high availability, and security policies in AWS
- Optimize database performance by tuning memory, disk I/O, and caching strategies
- Implement TLS encryption, RBAC authentication, and firewall rules for secure access.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience
- Strong experience with Couchbase ,Apache Cassandra and/or ScyllaDB
- Hands-on with CQL, nodetool, cqlsh, and ScyllaDBs monitoring tools.
- Knowledge of multi-DC replication, consistency tuning, and repair strategies
- Proficiency in Linux system administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS)
- Knowledge of LVM, RAID, kernel tuning, and disk management
- Experience with Helm, StatefulSets, Persistent Volumes, and Operators.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes networking, RBAC, and auto-scaling
- Experience with AWS services (EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, VPC)
- Knowledge of Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible for cloud automation
- CI/CD automation for database deployments.
- Proficiency in Bash/Python scripting for automating admin tasks
