Organizational Description

The Data Engineering group in the Core Infrastructure at Morgan Stanley provides technologies and platform required to model, provision, transform, analyze, report, visualize, store and protect enterprise data. The team is responsible for the delivery and operation of these product

We are seeking a skilled, enthusiastic technologists to join our global central infrastructure data integration engineering team. The candidate will be responsible for providing infrastructure engineering support for Morgan Stanley's Talend data integration platform as well as developing self-service tooling to manage the platform. The central data integration platform enables ELT and ETL operations for on premise and cloud implementations and focuses heavily on self-service, automation and devops. Other responsibilities include troubleshooting and helping development teams with best practices and on-boarding, monitoring, optimizing and tuning implementations. This role will offer opportunities to perform proof of concept tests of new technology solutions to help drive the firm?s data integration strategy. The ideal candidate is one who has experience building data infrastructure solutions, developing Restful APIs, and is proficient with JAVA on Windows and Linux.

Qualifications:

Experience- 5+ year

Required Skills:

- 1-2 years of experience with data integration or data pipeline products such as Talend, Informatica, Azure Data Factory, NiFi

- 1-2 years of experience with at least two major DBMS, data analytical and messaging products (Sybase ASE, DB2 UDB, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Greenplum, Singlestore, Redis, Hadoop, Databricks, MQSeries, Kafka) with knowledge of internals and implementation detail

- 1-2 years of experience with software development using either JAVA or Python on Linux

- Experience building RESTful API

- Experience in shell scripting

- Strong fundamentals in distributed system design, development and deployment using agile/devops practice

- Experience with tools such as GIT, Jira and Bitbucket

- A self-starter with the ability to work effectively in team

- Excellent skill in verbal and written communication

Desired Skills:

- Experience working with Docker & Kubernete

- Experience with public cloud services, terminology and security/control requirement

- Deep knowledge of JVM internal

- Python Knowledge

- Experience with system performance

- Contributor/Committer to open source project

- Experience working and managing software on a large distributed environment

- Working knowledge of TDV or another data virtualization platform (such Denodo, IBM Infosphere Information Services)
