We're seeking an individual who does more than just 'manage' the warehouse and dbt - we need someone who shapes the very backbone of all our analytics-related processes, and paves the way for analysts to provide insights at every corner of our company. This Austin, TX-based role is critical in keeping Zello's data infrastructure not just operational, but exemplary.

After a successful first year, you will have:

• Elevated our data infrastructure's reliability, making data outages a thing of the past

• Fostered robust data governance practices, ensuring data consistency, security, and trust

• Masterminded cost-effective measures and nurtured valuable vendor relationships, providing Zello with both fiscal and technical advantages

• Revolutionized our ETL processes, ensuring near real-time data availability for our analysts, every single time

• Authored comprehensive, clear documentation that became the go-to guide for our teams, bolstering trust and smooth inter-departmental collaborations

What you'll do

• Oversee the heart of Zello's data infrastructure, ensuring maximum uptime, reliability, and scalability

• Manage, refine, and optimize all data sources, ensuring the freshest data is always at our analysts' fingertips

• Foster exceptional vendor relationships, navigating negotiations and ensuring Zello's data needs are always front and center

• Champion the ETL process, embracing modern tools and technologies to ensure data accuracy and speed

• Immerse yourself in documentation, ensuring every model, every process, and every data nuance is clearly mapped out for all stakeholders.

• Collaborate closely with the broader analytics team, ensuring their data needs are always met, and their insights are based on solid, reliable data.

What you bring

• At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or related fields

• Deep proficiency in ETL techniques, with experience working with Fivetran/Airbyte desired as well as the ability to develop bespoke API-based pipelines

• Mastery over warehousing technologies like Snowflake and BigQuery, Snowflake being particularly critical

• Solid programming skills, especially SQL, Jinja, and Python, GoLang and Node desirable as well

• A foundational understanding of software development best practices and the ability to apply these to our data transformations

• A nuanced understanding of database fundamentals, ensuring data integrity, speed, and reliability

• Rich experience with dbt modeling, making you the linchpin of our data infrastructure's integrity

• A fervor for data governance and documentation, ensuring every piece of data, every model, is a source of trust and clarity
