Position:
Performance Measures Analyst

Position Summary:
Works with cross-functional teams involved in physician practice quality and performance metrics, maintaining working relationships with network physicians and practice administrative staff, the assessment of practice training needs, and the coordination of training programs with Essence staff.

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supports quality and performance measurements for assigned Medical Groups and IPAs.
  • Maintains ongoing relationships with the physician and business leadership of Essence network of physicians, hospitals, and ancillary providers.
  • Participates in medical expense management, HEDIS/STARs performance and Medical Group/IPA joint operating committees as needed.
  • Monitors, reviews, and analyzes physician contract measurement performance to ensure financial, operational, and strategic metrics are being satisfied. Suggests and helps implement improvements.
  • Answers questions about physician analytics and reporting issues and interpretations and resolves moderately complex issues that arise. Partners with management on more complex issues.
  • Provides in-office training and orientation for new physicians regarding measurements and metrics.
  • Serves as the point of contact on quality and performance metrics.
  • Assist in the development to the strategic planning process to address the provider network needs as the market grows.
  • Assists management with development of provider-specific metrics.
  • Provides support to department leadership for contract negotiations of quality and performance metrics.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, health care administration, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience with a combination of exposure to provider analytics and/or provider relations
  • Good judgment and follow through skills
  • Effective interpersonal, organizational, time-management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills including the ability to interpret, conceptualize, and disseminate data/information in a readily understandable manner
  • Knowledge of HEDIS/STARS measures
  • Good communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with professionals at all levels internally and externally
  • Proficient computer and Microsoft Office Suite skills with the ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies; Excel and PowerPoint experience strongly preferred
  • Adaptable and patient with the ability to address and resolve issues in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Strong collaboration and team work skills



Working Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in normal office working conditions.
