Department Profile
Morgan Stanley's Internal Audit Department reports to the Firm's Board Audit Committee and comprises financial/ technology and risk auditors. Our mission is to be recognized as a strong and high performing audit function that is viewed as a trusted authority and advisor to the Board/ Firm management and industry regulators in assessing and strengthening the Firm's control environment. Internal Audit provides independent assurance on the quality and effectiveness of Morgan Stanley's internal control/ risk management and governance systems and processes.
Data Analytics & Innovation auditors assist business and technology audit teams provide assurance over the business process/ application and system infrastructure controls that manage business risks and are responsible for understanding/ analyzing and testing the technology controls including those over data accuracy/ completeness and processing systems development/ application security and entitlements/ production management and technology governance. Individuals are also responsible for driving process and technology innovation within the department with a strong emphasis on automation and gaining deeper insights from our Firm's data.
Job Description
The Data Science Associate/Manager/Senior Manager will work on the Data Science team to develop analytics and insights within Internal Audit.
Job profile:
• Be Data Curious - Analyze large, complex data sets to produce compelling insights and identify trends and patterns.
• Use cutting-edge machine learning and statistical techniques?to research and develop various models to detect risks (market, credit, operational, compliance, conduct, cyber, etc.) across the Firm and drive innovation in the audit space
• Collaborate with stakeholders to establish project objectives and refine requirement
• Maintain strong client focus by building strong relationships with Firm-wide stakeholders/collaborators and identify opportunities to utilize data science solutions to drive insight

Qualifications:
Qualifications
• Degree in quantitative field (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Operations Research, or other related field)
• Strong skills in Python and hands-on experience developing machine learning (ML) and natural learning processing (NLP) model
• Ability to think outside the box and research new statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders across teams and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multiple deliverables, team-oriented environment
• Knowledge of SQL and business intelligence products such as Tableau, QlikView, etc. and Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark and cloud computing platforms would be an advantage
