Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and Senior Data Visualization and Reporting Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for an individual with strong expertise in data visualization and more specifically, PowerBI. The individual should also have experience with other visualization and reporting tools, Python development, and diverse database systems. You will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining advanced reporting tools and visualization systems using platforms like Streamlit and Power BI, delivering actionable insights to support data-driven decision-making. As part of a collaborative team, you will apply your extensive programming skills, particularly in Python, and leverage your experience with Git for version control and software development lifecycle management. You will work closely with stakeholders, transforming complex datasets into visually appealing and user-friendly reports to communicate trends, patterns, and insights effectively. This role is positioned to be the reporting and visualization lead with opportunity for growth and leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, optimize, and deploy scalable data visualization tools using Power BI.
  • Build out and maintain the team’s visualization and reporting wiki which serves as our advisory documentation hub as we strive to be the location the business references for reporting best practices.
  • Proficient querying of SingleStore, SQL Server, and Snowflake databases to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist the data engineering team with data modeling in anticipation of reporting solutions for our data product catalog.
  • Write efficient Python scripts for data processing, analysis, and integration across multiple data sources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Manage version control using Git, ensuring seamless collaboration and code reliability across projects.
  • Evaluate and implement best practices for data visualization, ensuring accuracy, readability, and consistency.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance reporting capabilities.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in data visualization development using visualization tools such as Power BI and Streamlit.
  • Own and manage the PowerBi platform as we service the business units.
  • Strong Python programming skills, with demonstrated expertise in building robust and scalable applications.
  • Hands-on experience with SingleStore, SQL Server, and Snowflake databases for data processing and querying.
  • Proficiency in Git for code collaboration, version control, and workflow management.
  • Solid understanding of relational and cloud database systems and best practices for data analysis.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality reporting solutions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills for working across multidisciplinary teams.
