About the Role
The Data Team Manager leads a team of Data Verification Specialists and Data Process Analysts, driving a high-performance culture built on quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement. They act as the key point of contact between the data team and wider business stakeholders, reporting directly to the Leader of Managed Services.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of data professionals, supporting their growth and performance
- Foster a collaborative team culture built on accountability, innovation, and engagement
- Manage recruitment, succession planning, and capability development to support business needs
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide consistent, constructive feedback
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to monitor and improve data accuracy
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and data management standards
- Identify and drive opportunities for process optimisation and automation
- Oversee team scheduling and ensure accurate, timely hours reporting
- Act as liaison between the data team and internal departments including IT, Finance, and Operations
- Communicate project status, insights, and recommendations to management and stakeholders
- Deliver against key performance indicators with a strong focus on client experience
- Generate and interpret reports to support decision-making and task prioritisation
- Initiate corrective actions to address performance gaps where required
- Oversee code mapping and vehicle data management processes to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Contribute actively to team and company-wide initiatives
- Provide on-call support as required in line with the team's 24/7 operation
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience leading a data or operations team
- Strong coaching and people management skills
- A quality-first mindset with experience in data governance or QA processes
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
- Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large or complex data sets
- Experience using Salesforce for case management or data operations
- Knowledge of code mapping and vehicle data management
- Experience in the automotive industry is desirable
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
