The selected Data Solution Engineer will have a deep understanding of our business goals, capabilities, value-streams, and integrated processes. The Data Solution Engineer will work collaboratively across the organization on both projects and support. The person in this role will operate in Agile framework to design, develop and/or adopt technologies that meet the organization's needs; Specifically, creating solutions that connect components and applications that allow multiple processes to interact across our network, as well as within a variety of current and future planned cloud solutions. The Data Solution Engineer will mentor and provide subject matter expertise to development teams. He/she will develop reports for various business units using modern cloud BI solutions. Additionally, he/she must have expertise leveraging Databricks and cloud-native tools will help to design and implement scalable data solutions for the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
*Collaborates with business stakeholders to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software and/or applications. Provide Data / ML and AI platform recommended business workflow, understanding requirements, and helping each project team to document them.
*Develop Data Modernization capabilities that adheres to the project roadmap to enable Insurance Carrier to migrate data computing to cloud using cloud native data / ML and AI assets, tools and capabilities.
*Designs and supports the medallion data architecture, strategic and operational reporting; ensures development efforts are carried out using a consistent and quality driven approach.
*Provide hands-on Data / ML & A.I. support that includes code and framework development. Provides hands on technical support, guidance and coaching to Data / ML and A.I. developers.
*Oversees progress of development team to ensure consistency with initial design. Also ensures the software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility, etc.
*Building Databricks Delta Lake based Lakehouse using PySpark Jobs, Databricks Workflows, Unity Catalog, Delta Sharing, Serverless computing and Medallion architecture.
*Demonstrate expertise in implementing data security best practices to safeguard sensitive information within Databricks.
This position will be based in our corporate office in Sarasota, FL and is eligible for a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remote.

The salary range for this position is $92,286-$142,123 annually. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Qualifications Experience Required * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related, NOTE: Relevant, progressively responsible work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education/exams. * A minimum of five years of cloud-based services relevant to data engineering, data storage, data processing, data warehousing, real-time streaming, and serverless computing. * Three or more years engineering data pipelines, governance, and AI/ML support. * Excellent programming and debugging skills in Python.
