Position Overview

The Data Scientist plays a key role in transforming CPS (Commercial Product Supply) data into actionable insights that enable predictive and data-driven decision-making. This role partners with business and technology stakeholders to understand operational challenges, identify the right data sources and analytical approaches, and deliver scalable analytics solutions.

The Data Scientist will prepare and analyze data, develop and deploy predictive and machine learning models, and translate findings into clear business recommendations. In addition, this role contributes to building reusable analytics assets and best practices that support long-term capability development across CPS.

This role supports global CPS initiatives by driving efficiency, improving decision quality, and enabling standardized, scalable analytics solutions.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with subject matter experts and business stakeholders to understand processes, define business problems, and translate them into structured analytics use cases with clear objectives and measurable outcomes
  • Integrate and analyze data across multiple domains, including finance, engineering, operations, supply chain, IT, and external data sources
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop, validate, and deploy predictive and machine learning models
  • Design and implement algorithms to address business and operational challenges
  • Manage and curate analytics datasets, ensuring data quality and consistency
  • Identify and resolve data anomalies and inconsistencies
  • Contribute to the development of data science methodologies, frameworks, and best practices
  • Document processes, models, and standards to support scalability and reuse across teams

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
  • Master’s degree preferred

Previous Work Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field, preferably within consumer products, manufacturing, or supply chain environments
  • Strong expertise in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data mining techniques
  • Proven track record delivering end-to-end analytics solutions from ideation to production
  • Strong experience with:
    • Machine Learning & Advanced Analytics
    • Optimization techniques (e.g., linear programming, ILP, OR-tools)
    • Python / PySpark / SQL
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, Databricks, Fabric or similar)
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence across functions
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into business insights
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data science and analytics
  • Creative problem solver with a strong analytical mindset
