A Day in the LifeIn this exciting role as a Data Scientist, the incumbent will leverage his/her knowledge and experience in statistical programming and device database skills to support all statistical programming activities in clinical studies. You will join a Statistical Programming/Data Science team, as a part of the CRM Clinical Biostatistics and Data Science. Partnering with Statisticians, Data Management and Study Managers, the groups support clinical studies in Electrophysiology Therapies and conduct efforts in data-based clinical evidence generation including and not limited to coordinating programming activities among the study programmers to achieve timely deliveries in the following areas: ADaM-like or analysis datasets, statistical tables, listings, and figures (TLFs), data reconciliation reports, and other internal and external reports.Data Scientists in the medical device industry uses SAS and R to analyze clinical trial data, validate algorithms, and ensure compliance with strict health regulations. They play a critical role in evaluating device safety, efficacy, and performance before and after market launch. This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Statistics at Medtronic Electrophysiology Therapies and is with primary location Heerlen, The Netherlands. Less than 5% travel time as needed.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Designs, plans, and executes Statistical Programming components of plans for clinical projects that establish the conditions essential for determining safety, efficacy, and marketability of medical device products
- Uses sound statistical programming terminology to conduct studies relating to the life cycle of the product
- Responsible for creating programs to develop, validate, and document datasets, tables, listings, and figures related to the devices being studied
- Supports the regulatory review and provide data information for the experimental therapies
- Completes programming and implements efficiencies, performs testing and debugging
- Adapts machine learning to areas such as virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, robotics and other products that allow users to have an interactive experience.
