About the Role
We are looking for an AI Engineer with a strong background in backend software engineering, cloud environments, and MLOps. This role is focused on the engineering side: building, integrating, and deploying generative AI systems.
This is a entry level position. You will work alongside our senior engineers and architects to turn AI prototypes into reliable, production grade cloud applications. If you have solid software development skills, a DevOps mindset, and want to learn how to build scalable agentic workflows and optimize LLM systems on GCP, we would love to meet you.
What You Will Do
- Build AI Applications: Help write, test, and deploy production ready GenAI applications. You will play a key role in taking prototypes and agentic workflows and turning them into stable enterprise services.
- Integrate GenAI Workflows: Build and maintain backend pipelines for generative AI under the guidance of senior team members. This includes working on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, multi-agent frameworks, and semantic search.
- Support MLOps Pipelines: Help build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for ML models and LLM applications. You will set up basic logging, tracing, and monitoring tools to make sure our production models are healthy and performing well.
- Optimize Inference and Performance: Help scale and optimize model inference on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to keep latency low, control cloud costs, and handle high throughput.
- Manage Data and Feature Pipelines: Develop and maintain data processing setups, including clean data pipelines and embedding pipelines that connect to vector databases and GCP data tools.
- Use Modern Developer Tools: Actively use AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot or Cursor to write clean code, speed up your development cycle, and build thorough automated testing suites.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with our internal math experts, senior MLOps architects, and business stakeholders to translate business ideas into practical, working software features.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong Software Fundamentals: Solid experience with Python and clean backend software engineering practices (such as object-oriented design, writing APIs, and working with microservices).
- Cloud and DevOps Basics: Hands-on experience with GCP (such as Cloud Run, GKE/Kubernetes, and BigQuery) or equivalent cloud providers. You should be comfortable with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and the basics of infrastructure as code.
- Experience with GenAI Tools: Practical exposure (through work, school, or personal projects) to working with foundation model APIs like Gemini, OpenAI, or Anthropic. Familiarity with frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or the Google ADK is a big plus.
- Data and Databases: Experience with standard database technologies, and a strong interest in learning how to work with vector databases like BigQuery Vector Search.
- An Observability Mindset: A basic understanding of how to monitor applications, log performance, and track operational metrics in production.
- Strong Desire to Learn Financial Markets: You do not need to be a financial expert on day one, but you should have a strong analytical mind and a genuine interest in learning how commodity and financial derivative markets work.
