We are seeking an experienced and driven Data Science expert to join the Analytical Capabilities team, where you will help power Equifax’s AI and analytical offerings. In this role, you will build innovative tools and perform in-depth analysis to support customer decision points across the consumer lending lifecycle. By leveraging advanced mathematical and statistical approaches, you will develop robust, reusable, and highly automated solutions.

In this position, you will analyze complex data sources using various programming languages to inform business strategy and deliver insights for both internal and external stakeholders. You will develop models to test hypotheses and quantify the impact of decisions under various scenarios. Your ability to communicate technical results will be essential in driving profitability and translating business requirements into scalable, data-driven products.

What you'll do

● Utilize combined knowledge of data structures, analytics, algorithms/models, and strong computer science fundamentals to independently prepare datasets, conduct analytics, and develop deployable solutions.

● Collect, analyze and interpret large data assets to define and build multiple innovative solution components leveraging business and technical expertise. Support the analytical strategy by understanding critical technical capabilities and suggesting opportunities.

● Drive the execution of projects with multiple deliverables, leveraging business and technical expertise.

● Work on high-complexity tasks in problems often within multiple business or analytical domains, collaborating with other teams to develop enhanced solutions.

● Communicate results to external stakeholders and mid level leadership, able to communicate business impact of work.

● Evaluate the technical work of peer and junior data scientists, guiding them on deliverable quality and accuracy.

What experience you need

● MS degree in a STEM major or equivalent discipline 

● 5-7 years of experience in a related analytical role 

● Experience with feature/attribute development using structured and unstructured data

● Proven track record of designing and developing predictive models in real-world applications 

● Experience with model performance evaluation and predictive model optimization for accuracy and efficiency

● Cloud certification strongly preferred 

● Additional role-based certifications may be required depending upon region/BU requirements

What could set you apart

● Background in the financial services industry, specifically as it pertains to credit risk, marketing or collections

● Experience working with large datasets on a big data platform (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS, Snowflake, Hadoop)

● Intermediate level understanding and experience with Google Cloud Platforms and overall cloud computing concepts, as well as basic knowledge of other cloud environments

● Background using or leveraging AI tools for work efficiency or knowledge gathering 

● Demonstrates advanced Git usage and CI/CD integration skills
