Data Scientist

Steadily is a Series C insurance technology company that specializes in rental property insurance for landlords. We’re five years old, 200 people, manage $20B in risk, and are intent on becoming the world’s best and largest insurer of rental properties.

We’re looking for a Data Scientist who is the very best at what you do. You'll be surrounded by teammates who are also exceptional.

What You'll Do

You'll be part of the Engineering/Data team with a focus on CX and Sales. You'll use our data warehouse (Metabase/Clickhouse) to answer questions like:

• What property attributes are most predictive of an early cancellation?

• Given a data set of 100,000 inbound messages from customers and agents, how often is our reply unhelpful/discourteous?

• Which support agents are skewing to email vs phone vs SMS and how is that impacting their productivity and customer satisfaction?

• What's the predicted retention period for a referral from a mortgage company on a fix-and-flip property?

Your Background

• 90th-percentile: you're one of the best in your field, and it shows in your career trajectory

• R/Python: you're not a developer, but you reach for R or Python to transform large data sets without hesitation

• Curious: you are not just an order-taker... you are curious about what makes the business tick and you learn the intricacies of how it runs. This results in strong intuition for when analysis is wrong and leads you to suggest ideas and insights that nobody thought to ask for.

• Ambitious: you crave being on a high-powered team at a company that's aiming to IPO. You are used to working substantially beyond a 9-5 intensity-level.

Compensation and Benefits

• Compensation - $150,000+ including equity

• Steadily is a fully in-person company. This role will be located in Overland Park, KS (preferred) or Austin, TX.

• This role is ineligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must have permanent US work authorization.

• 3 weeks PTO plus six federal holidays
