This role is responsible for developing new innovative tools within the Palantir Quality Management Operating System (QMOS) to monitor vehicle telematic data to identify early warning signals to proactively mitigate customer risks and support our field engineers. The position will focus on the new engine and aftertreatment system product launch by providing advanced data analytics dashboards that support the cross-functional team for problem-solving complex issues.
The ideal candidate has experience developing data pipelines, analytics applications, and interactive dashboards to support business intelligence, reliability analysis, and risk assessments. What You Drive at DTNA

  • Develop new data analytics tools for fault code, software, and diagnostics failure analysis in the Palantir Quality Management Operating System (QMOS).
  • Use Artificial Intelligence and machine learning to analyze large datasets to assess the overall performance of business segments.
  • Development and implementation of new predictive failure analytics model in Palantir Quality Management Operating System (QMOS) using statistical methods such as Weibull analysis and regression techniques.
  • Design, build, and maintain Palantir Foundry applications using Quiver, Contour, and Workshop to enable scalable analytics and decision-making that can be rolled out to field team members.
  • Create interactive dashboards and visualizations that effectively communicate complex relationships, trends, and insights.
  • Collaborate with Quality Management teams, engineers, and business stakeholders to develop metrics, performance KPIs, and analytical models.
  • Support the product development cycle by providing lessons learned as input to the next releases.
  • Lead the Integrated Change Management (ICM) review and response for all software systems and electronic component ICMs for the global Powertrain quality organization.
  • Lead and Mentor the other team members on problem-solving fault code, software, and electronic/mechatronic issues
  • Analyze and interpret CAN data using CANape, DiagnosticLink, and CAN log files to diagnose complex system-level failures.
  • Perform hands-on debugging, testing, and validation of engine and aftertreatment software and electrical systems, including ECUs, wire harnesses, sensors, electromechanical components, and embedded systems.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Data Science, or another related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in automotive quality, reliability engineering, or data analytics.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience debugging and testing automotive electrical and electronic systems in an OEM environment.
  • 3+ years of experience developing failure prediction and reliability models using Weibull analysis, regression analysis, or similar statistical techniques.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Online Warranty Link (OWL) and Quality Management Operating System (QMOS).
  • 2+ years of experience working with Detroit service systems including Sales Force, DTNA Connect, Virtual Technician, Common Telematics Platform (CTP), Diagnostic Link and DDEC Reports.
  • Deep understanding of vehicle/powertrain electrical architectures, ECUs, sensors, wiring harnesses, and embedded systems.
  • Understanding of powertrain systems, interfaces, and operation fundamentals.
  • Advanced proficiency with CAN analysis tools including CANape and DiagnosticLink, with strong experience reading and analyzing CAN logs.
  • Strong proficiency in Palantir Foundry, including application development using Quiver, Contours, and Workshop.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams through complex technical investigations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to senior and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Candidate must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally (less than 10%).

Exceptional Candidates Might Have         

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Data Science, or another related field.
  • Familiarity with Detroit manufacturing production and quality systems (PTSI, SISAM, Toolsnet, QDA).
  • Experience as a technical lead or subject matter expert in field reliability or vehicle quality.
  • Strong background in warranty analysis, data analytics, and service diagnostics.
  • Practice in developing, mentoring and training new team members.
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams or acting as a technical product owner.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based analytics platforms such as Palantir Foundry, Databricks, or Snowflake.
