Job DescriptionThe Data Product Manager leads data governance and data management initiatives across the enterprise, with a strong focus on data controls, including data retention, data minimisation, and access management. The role partners with business and technical stakeholders to identify and mitigate data risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver scalable data management solutions that support organisational objectives. The role encompasses contributing to data management strategy and roadmaps, managing the delivery of data initiatives in an Agile environment, monitoring control effectiveness through key risk indicators, supporting business case development and prioritisation, providing stakeholder reporting and updates, and championing best-practice data governance and data literacy across the organisation to reduce enterprise data risk and strengthen overall data management capability.
Qualifications- Demonstrated experience in data management, data governance, data analytics, digital, or technology-focused environments.
- Proven experience working within Agile delivery environments and contributing to the successful delivery of data-related initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technology teams.
- Experience designing, implementing, or managing data controls, data retention policies, access management practices, or data lifecycle management frameworks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Highly organised with attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of privacy, regulatory, and compliance requirements relating to data management is highly regarded.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Australian privacy regulations, including the Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
- Experience applying regulatory and policy requirements within data environments.
- Familiarity with telecommunications data management and retention obligations.
- Experience working across enterprise data governance, risk, and compliance programs.
