As the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Data Product Lead at Takeda, you will be responsible for managing the data strategy for end-to-end supply chain operations, including sourcing, production, inventory management, and distribution. The responsibility includes designing and building data products that drive business insights, sales effectiveness, and market strategies. You will own the product lifecycle for data solutions that support Takeda's commercial data product operations, including sales, marketing, and customer engagement. Working closely with cross-functional teams such as Global Manufacturing and Quality Teams, Commercial Operations, Sales, Marketing, Insight and Analytics (I&A), Data Science, and IT, you will ensure that the data products provide actionable insights to maximize business value and improve decision-making. Our Enterprise Data Backbone (EDB) is built on a trusted data marketplace experience and will be key to accelerating data availability to our business partners.
Required Technical Expertise: In-depth technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, pharmaceutical production, and regulatory requirements to enhance operational efficiency and compliance. Technical expertise in SAP to manage data and optimize the flow of materials, products, and information across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Vision & Strategy: Define and execute the vision and strategy for Takeda's manufacturing and commercial data products, ensuring alignment with business objectives in sales, marketing, and customer engagement. Lead data products internalization and building Community of Practice (CoP).
  • Data Integration & Management: Oversee the integration of commercial data from multiple sources, including SAP and CRM systems, sales performance data, marketing analytics, and external data providers & RWD, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across the organization.
  • Data Management and Analysis: Analyze pharmaceutical data (inventory, production performance, quality metrics) to generate insights and improve supply chain decision-making. Ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance in all reporting activities.
  • Roadmap Development: Develop and manage a comprehensive product roadmap that prioritizes features based on business impact, user needs, and technical feasibility. Ensure the roadmap supports commercial goals and drives data-driven decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders from Manufacturing Teams, Commercial Operations, Sales, Marketing, Data Science, and IT to gather requirements and define data needs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Data Governance & Compliance: Ensure that all commercial data products adhere to internal governance frameworks and external regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). Implement best practices for data privacy and security, especially regarding customer data.
  • End-to-End Data Flow: Map out the end-to-end data flow across commercial applications and platforms, ensuring seamless integration with internal systems (e.g., CRM, marketing platforms) and external partners (IQVIA/KOMODO), enabling a unified view of sales and marketing performance.
  • Analytics & Insights: Collaborate with Data Science and Analytics teams to develop reporting tools and dashboards that provide actionable insights into sales trends, marketing effectiveness, customer behavior, and market performance.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party data providers and technology vendors to ensure timely delivery, data quality, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance commercial data processes, including data collection, validation, and analysis. Implement solutions to improve the efficiency and accuracy of sales and marketing data reporting.
  • Data Quality & Security: Ensure the highest standards of data quality and security, implementing data validation processes and monitoring systems to safeguard sensitive commercial and customer information.
  • Market Insights & Competitor Analysis: Leverage commercial data to provide market insights, competitor analysis, and business intelligence, supporting strategic decision-making and helping Takeda stay ahead in the competitive landscape.
  • User Experience: Enhance the user experience for manufacturing, sales and marketing teams by providing easy access to real-time data and insights through intuitive dashboards and self-service analytics tools.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary advocate for global manufacturing, supply chain and commercial data products, ensuring alignment between stakeholders, including Sales, Marketing, and IT, and facilitating ongoing feedback to improve the products.


Qualifications:
Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.


Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, product ownership, data management, or commercial operations within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or biotechnology industry.
  • Proven experience in building data products with the data related to manufacturing and supply chain data entities. Understanding of equipment life cycle management, process engineering, asset life cycle management, and any other engineering activities that support manufacturing and quality assurance processes.
  • Understanding of quality control and assurance processes, including analytical test results (e.g., purity and potency tests), compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., GMP), deviation reports, audit findings, stability data, and laboratory test results.
  • Proven experience with commercial data products development utilizing data from manufacturing and commercial platform (e.g., SAP, Material Master, CRM - Salesforce, sales performance, marketing analytics) and external data vendors (IQVIA/Komodo/ Symphony) and managing large-scale data integration projects.
  • Strong understanding of sales and marketing processes and their data needs.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Expertise in data management, data integration, and governance in a commercial context.
  • Strong knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SAS).
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and database systems.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across business functions and technical teams.


Preferred Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and marketing automation tools.
  • Experience with predictive analytics, machine learning, or AI applications in sales and marketing.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and commercial operations, including market access, pricing, and sales force effectiveness.
