Bring your banking and data experience into our newly established Markets Data Office. Join us and work with critical data in Markets as part of a team that is being built right now. Join us in building a new data capability in Markets

About the job

At Saxo, we are building the Markets Data Office as part of our Data Governance Programme. The team is organised across four domain areas: Products, Operations, Counterparty Risk and Market Risk. Together, these areas reflect how critical data is used across Markets.

We are a newly established team and still in our build phase. Our first permanent colleagues joined in September 2026. Today, we are eight people, and we are growing to twelve.

As the team grows, we are creating the foundations for how we work, including frameworks, standards, tooling and governance practices. At the same time, we are already delivering on ongoing data initiatives across Markets.

This is an opportunity to join early, influence how we work and make a real impact on how data is governed at scale.

What you will do

As a Data Portfolio Analyst, you will take ownership of data governance activities within one of our four domain areas. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data owners, data stewards and technology teams to improve how critical data is defined, monitored and controlled.

Depending on your domain, you could work with instrument reference data, market data, price data, custody information, election data, trades, positions, counterparty risk or model data.

You will be part of one Markets Data Office with shared standards, tooling and governance practices, while also helping to define and improve these as the team develops.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Taking ownership of ongoing data governance activities within your domain and driving them forward
  • Identifying and documenting Critical Data Attributes (CDAs) by reviewing data attributes with stakeholders, assessing which are critical for Saxo and driving the governance of Critical Data Elements (CDEs)
  • Analysing data together with data owners to assess quality, identify issues and lead root cause investigations
  • Defining and maintaining data definitions, rules, thresholds and documentation used in monitoring and control activities
  • Monitoring data quality outputs, tracking remediation and escalating when issues are not being resolved
  • Building strong working relationships with data owners, data stewards and stakeholders across business and technology
  • Helping shape the frameworks, standards and ways of working for the Markets Data Office

A key part of your role will be making sure documentation is clear, structured and easy to maintain, helping create transparency and consistency across the organisation.

Who you are

You bring:

  • Some years of experience from the banking sector, which is a requirement for this position
  • Experience in data analysis, data quality, data governance or a related field
  • The ability to understand data in the context of business processes and explain your findings clearly to both business and technical audiences
  • The ability to produce clear and structured documentation
  • Hands on experience with SQL. Experience with Python is an advantage
  • Experience using AI and other technology tools to automate tasks and find smarter ways of working

It would be a clear advantage if you have

  • Experience from Markets functions such as trading, market or counterparty risk, investment products or operations, including an understanding of how a trade moves from front to back
  • Experience with data governance in financial services, for example CDEs, data ownership, data profiling, data controls, data lineage or BCBS 239
  • Experience with Databricks, Great Expectations, OpenMetadata or similar data platforms and data quality tools

We are looking for someone who:

  • Takes ownership. You move your work forward, follow through and take initiative.
  • Collaborates naturally. You build trust with business stakeholders, technology teams and colleagues across different domain areas.
  • Uses technology naturally. You use technology to analyse, automate, document and find more effective ways of working.
  • Is comfortable working in an evolving environment. You can manage changing priorities, bring structure to areas that are still developing and help shape solutions as the team grows.
  • Is structured and curious. You have a strong analytical mindset, pay attention to detail and enjoy understanding how things work.

What we offer

  • The opportunity to help build a new data function and its foundations from the ground up
  • Real ownership and influence on how critical data is governed across Markets
  • Exposure to key business domains and critical data flows
  • The opportunity to work closely with experienced colleagues across Markets, data and technology
  • A role that can develop alongside a growing team

You will join the Markets Data Office at an early stage of its journey, giving you the opportunity to take on new challenges, grow your responsibility and influence how critical data is managed across Markets.
