Your contributions will be pivotal in transforming Jotun into a more data-centric organization, driving innovation and efficiency across all levels.
As a part of Jotun’s Data department, you will work as a Data Platform Engineer to strengthen the team that is responsible for supporting and growing Jotun’s data platform. You will work within a constantly evolving environment currently consisting of Informatica Cloud IDMC, Snowflake, Azure cloud services and the Microsoft Power BI Premium to deliver data from global solutions in a self-service manner.
There will be world-wide traveling opportunities in this position, and our workplace is in Jotun's international headquarter in Sandefjord, Norway.
Responsibilities:
- Database Management: Oversee account creation and management, ensuring the smooth operation of databases both on-premises and in the cloud. Be the guardian of our data sanctuaries.
- Automation & Standardization: Implement and maintain standardized access protocols to streamline operations and enhance security.
- Dashboard Development: Create and manage intuitive administrative dashboards that provide actionable insights and drive decision-making.
- Support Management: Handle support tickets with finesse, providing top-notch technical support to users and ensuring their issues are resolved promptly.
- Cost & Budget Monitoring: Track and manage costs and budgets for various platforms, ensuring we stay on track and within budget.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive process and architecture documentation, ensuring everything is well-documented and easily accessible.
- Infrastructure Requests: Manage infrastructure requests for cloud components, ensuring our cloud infrastructure is robust and scalable.
- Technical Support: Provide expert technical support for developers and business users, helping them navigate and utilize our data platforms effectively.
- Project Support: Assist with onboarding projects into the data platform, providing ongoing technical support and ensuring smooth transitions.

Qualifications:
There are several backgrounds that could be interesting for this position. Please highlight in your CV and application what you find most relevant. We believe that any of these qualifications would perform well and be happy in this position:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in SQL, database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle), and data warehousing solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, Snowflake certifications) are a plus.
- Experience or knowledge with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards.
