Our Data Operations Support Engineer is a technical role focused on the smooth functioning and reliability of ComeOn batch and near real-time data systems by managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting data pipelines and processes.
Key responsibilities include daily monitoring of production data pipelines ensuring successful data delivery, investigation of data reconciliation and data quality issues, and providing clear communication to the relevant business stakeholders, while working closely with data team leads to continuously improve the processes developed by data engineering team.
This is a challenging role with huge growth potential as you will be helping data engineering teams build robust data processes while ensuring the data quality is not compromised.
Responsibilities:
- Daily monitoring of production data pipelines, systems, and processes to ensure they run as expected and to maintain smooth data flow.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues promptly to minimize downtime, performing incident management and escalating complex problems as needed.
- Conduct data verification, integrity checks, and reconciliations to maintain high data quality and accuracy.
- Provide first-line support for data-related incidents and handle incoming data requests from various teams, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Work to enhance existing data processes and systems, suggest improvements, and collaborate on building new solutions.
- Work with data engineers, analysts, and other business stakeholders to address operational challenges and support data-driven initiatives.
About you:
- Experienced data engineer with 3+ years of operational support with production data batch and/or real-time systems
- Experienced in complex SQL query writing and optimisation
- Excellent command of spoken and written English
- Hands-on experience with data management, data pipelines, and ETL processes
- Strong ability to analyse data and identify discrepancies or performance issues
- A keen eye for detail is crucial for ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Ability to work collaboratively with different teams and stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment whilst interacting with a variety of different disciplines
- Proven ability to prioritise and deal with problems systematically and provide clear communications regarding the issues, resolution times and solutions
& then some 'nice to have's...
- Hold an academic degree in a quantitative discipline such as computer science or mathematics
- Experience within the iGaming industry and / or regulatory aspect of iGaming would be considered an asset
- Experience with Airflow in GCP environment
- Understanding of data warehousing design concepts will be considered an asset
