A day in the life of a Data Management Functional Analyst
As a Data Management Functional Analyst, the following (regulatory) data obligations will be under your responsibility :
- Collaborate with business data owners/data stewards of the assets/ domains managed by your squad to understand their data, their data needs and business context;
- Analyze the data to onboard in the data management platform, establish what data & how it will be sourced and structured in the Data Lake;
- Establish what data will be supplied from the Data Lake to consumers;
- Create detailed specifications that DevOps engineers will use to source and structure data into the Data Lake;
- Create requirements on data quality, data lineage, data privacy, data security, and other relevant aspects of the data by recording the data definitions in the data dictionary and maintaining them as part of metadata management;

As a Data Management Functional Analyst, you will need:
- Broad knowledge and practical experience with projects related to use of data, data quality, data lineage, etc
- Experience as a trusted advisor for data-related questions (the “go-to data person”);
- Hands-on person who is not afraid to set up collaborations, make decisions, set priorities and put them into action in a dynamic environment;
- Critical thinker that is not afraid to challenge the business and move the organization to a new maturity level in data driven decision making;
- Ability to bring innovation and automation to operationalize some tasks and focus on strategic improvements;
- Hands-on SQL, databases experience, data warehouse experience is a plus;
- Experience with data modelling techniques and data models development is a plus;
- Experience with core banking, finance or risk processes is an added value.
