Lead the design and implementation of enterprise Data Management frameworks, governance models, policies, standards, and operating procedures. The consultant will work closely with business and IT stakeholders to improve data quality, establish data ownership, ensure regulatory compliance, and maximize the business value of organizational data assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise Data Management and Data Governance initiatives.
- Develop Data Governance Frameworks, Policies, Standards, and Procedures.
- Define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models.
- Establish Data Quality frameworks, KPIs, and monitoring processes.
- Design Metadata Management and Business Glossary structures.
- Develop Master Data Management (MDM) strategies.
- Support Data Catalog implementation and governance.
- Define Data Lifecycle Management processes.
- Develop Data Classification and Data Retention policies.
- Assess current-state data maturity and recommend improvements.
- Conduct data governance workshops with business stakeholders.
- Support implementation of governance tools and platforms.
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
- Prepare executive reports, dashboards, and governance metrics.
- Mentor Data Management Specialists.
Requirements
- Enterprise Data Governance – Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide Data Governance frameworks, operating models, policies, standards, and governance processes.
- Data Quality Management – Develop and manage Data Quality frameworks, profiling, monitoring, remediation processes, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Metadata Management – Define, maintain, and govern business, technical, and operational metadata to improve data discoverability, consistency, and usability.
- Master Data Management (MDM) – Support the design, implementation, and governance of Master Data Management solutions to ensure consistent, accurate, and trusted master data across enterprise systems.
- Data Catalog Solutions – Configure, administer, and optimize enterprise Data Catalog platforms to improve data discovery, metadata management, and collaboration.
- Data Lineage – Document and maintain end-to-end data lineage to provide visibility into data movement, transformation, and usage across the organization.
- Data Architecture Concepts – Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture principles, data domains, integration patterns, and modern data platform concepts.
- Data Lifecycle Management – Define and implement data lifecycle processes covering data creation, storage, retention, archival, and secure disposal in accordance with business and regulatory requirements.
- Data Modeling Fundamentals – Knowledge of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling techniques to support data architecture and solution design.
- SQL Knowledge – Ability to write and analyze SQL queries for data validation, profiling, quality assessment, and business analysis.
- Business Intelligence (BI) Concepts – Understanding of Business Intelligence principles, reporting, analytics, dashboards, and data visualization to support business decision-making.
- Data Governance Platforms – Hands-on experience with one or more enterprise Data Governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica Axon/EDC, Microsoft Purview, IBM Information Governance Catalog (IGC), or equivalent platforms.
- Experience
- 7 to 10 years of professional experience in Data Management, Data Governance, Data Architecture, or related data disciplines.
- Minimum 3 years of experience leading or driving enterprise Data Governance initiatives, including governance framework implementation, policy development, stewardship programs, and governance operating models.
- Proven experience delivering consulting engagements, including stakeholder management, requirements gathering, governance assessments, roadmap development, and implementation support across multiple business functions.
