What you will be doing:
- Define and execute the overall data strategy, leveraging Google Cloud services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub.
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and robust data pipelines and data warehouse solutions on GCP.
- Manage and mentor a team of data engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Establish and enforce best practices for data governance, quality, security, and compliance within the GCP environment.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical requirements.
- Evaluate and recommend new GCP data technologies and tools to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Oversee the deployment of machine learning and analytical models built on GCP's AI Platform.

- A relevant tertiary qualification would be beneficial (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)
- Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect certification.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience specifically with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data services.
- Extensive experience with BigQuery, including complex query optimization and performance tuning.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines on GCP.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau).
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
