This role is focused on supporting enterprise data governance and data quality initiatives across business and technology data assets, with emphasis on metadata management, stewardship, data cataloging, lineage, sensitive data classification, and audit readiness. The ideal candidate will bring strong documentation, analytical, stakeholder coordination, and governance execution skills, preferably within the insurance domain and cloud-based data platforms.
Responsibilities- Support the implementation of data governance frameworks across business and technology data assets, with focus on metadata management, data quality, data stewardship, and policy adherence.
- Assist in documenting data ownership, stewardship responsibilities, governance workflows, issue escalation paths, and operating procedures across business, data product, analytics, and technology teams.
- Work with business and data stakeholders to capture and maintain business glossaries, data dictionaries, data definitions, naming standards, reference data, and data lineage documentation.
- Perform data profiling and quality analysis to identify completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, duplication, and validity issues across enterprise and insurance-domain datasets.
- Define and document data quality rules, validation checks, issue logs, remediation actions, and quality scorecards in collaboration with data owners, stewards, engineering, and reporting teams.
- Support metadata management, cataloging, lineage tracking, access classification, and audit-readiness activities using tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Ataccama, Informatica Axon/EDC, Alation, or similar platforms.
- Collaborate with data engineering, BI, analytics, actuarial, underwriting, claims, operations, compliance, and business teams to improve data trust, usability, and governance adoption.
- Assist in sensitive data identification and classification for PII, PHI, PCI, financial, and confidential data, ensuring alignment with privacy, security, retention, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare governance artifacts, dashboards, status reports, meeting notes, training materials, and adoption trackers to support governance committees and stakeholder working groups.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of governance processes by identifying documentation gaps, recurring data quality issues, process inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation.
- 4-7 years of experience in data governance, data quality, metadata management, data stewardship, data management, or related data analytics/data engineering functions.
- Working knowledge of the insurance domain is preferred, including exposure to policy, claims, underwriting, billing, customer, producer, product, coverage, finance, or regulatory reporting data.
- Experience supporting data governance operating models, stewardship responsibilities, ownership documentation, governance workflows, issue management, and escalation processes.
- Hands-on exposure to business glossaries, data dictionaries, data definitions, naming standards, reference data documentation, and metadata cataloging activities.
- Good understanding of data quality management, including data profiling, rule documentation, validation checks, completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, duplication, exception tracking, and remediation support.
- Practical exposure to cloud and data platforms such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Snowflake, or similar technologies is preferred.
- Familiarity with data governance and data quality tools such as Microsoft Purview, Unity Catalog, Collibra, Ataccama, Informatica Axon/EDC, Alation, or similar platforms for glossary, lineage, cataloging, stewardship workflow, and data quality monitoring activities.
- Knowledge of sensitive data identification and classification for PII, PHI, PCI, financial, and confidential data, with awareness of privacy, security, retention, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to collaborate with business, technology, analytics, actuarial, underwriting, claims, compliance, and data product teams to improve data trust, documentation quality, and governance adoption.

- Degree in a data-centric field such as Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Processing, or a related discipline.
