Data Entry Specialist

The OMD project supports the PG&E Order Management Desk by overseeing work orders throughout their full lifecycle—from creation and planning to construction and final closure. Our main goal is to strengthen coordination, accountability, on-time delivery, and quality standards while reducing communication gaps. In this role, your contributions will help ensure timely and thorough quality reviews before and after construction. As a Data Entry Specialist I, you will be essential in maintaining data accuracy and integrity, directly supporting our commitment to delivering exceptional value to our clients through dependable and precise quality management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accurately enter, update, and validate work order data in internal databases and client systems
• Review engineering documents, work orders, and field reports for completeness and accuracy before entry
• Maintain organized digital records, ensuring data completeness and accuracy
• Collaborate with engineers, project coordinators, and external stakeholders to gather missing or incomplete information
• Perform routine data audits to identify discrepancies and correct errors.
• Adhere to data management protocols and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Track project milestones, deliverables, and status updates to support project managers.

Qualifications:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation preferred), Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
• Demonstrates ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently, effectively, and proactively
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
• Strong desire to learn with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills:
• Proven experience in data entry or a related role, preferably within a utilities, engineering consulting or quality management environment
• Experience with ERP or MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle NetSuite)

Public Warning: Recruitment Phishing Scam Impersonating EKN Engineering

EKN Engineering has become aware of a phishing scheme targeting individuals with fraudulent interview requests and job offers. EKN’s secure IT systems and private applicant information have not been compromised; scammers are impersonating EKN employees, using the company name and branding to mislead and engage potential job seekers in fake recruitment processes. Scammers might reference real job openings or describe fake opportunities that generally match individuals’ professional backgrounds, with the goal of establishing communication and eventually obtaining private financial information to defraud people. The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Federal Trade Commission warn that employment scams such as this are a growing cyber threat. EKN urges anyone who is contacted about employment opportunities to exercise caution and know that:

• All communication from EKN Engineering will be from an EKN employee using the @eknengineering.com email domain. We do not use third-party recruiters.
• EKN Engineering recruiters will only schedule interviews for candidates who have applied for a position through our secure portal.
• No corporate or IT systems at EKN are affected by this scam. The scammers are using EKN’s logo and employee names to impersonate the company.
