The Role

Overview
Provide technical and project leadership to the Data & Analytics team ensuring design and implementation of robust data architecture solutions and delivery of high quality, impactful data products.
Responsibilities

  • Act as traffic director for developers- prioritize and sequence technical debt, bug fixes, and product priorities. Orchestrate agile sprint process from a technical perspective, write and assign tickets, and coach people through block points.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership to data engineers, data scientists, and analysts. Mentor and coach team members to enhance capabilities. Coordinate development tasks. Pair with team members and work side by side when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with product management to assess technical feasibility of projects and refine requirements. Explain and clarify requirements with the team.
  • Inform, advise, and build consensus with management and other stakeholders on technical projects, complex matters, and decisions. Recommend actions and improvements.
  • Interpret, administer, and participate in policies, standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Help establish and measure team KPIs.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with Python development including code testing, integration testing, and version control.
  • 2+ years of experience acting as a project manager, tech lead, or engineering manager.
  • Experience working with big data and analytics.
  • Experience building in AWS or other cloud provider preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience with a visualization tool, such as Preset, PowerBI or Tableau preferred.
  • Experience with Data Warehouses preferred.
  • Experience with Apache Spark, Databricks experience preferred.
  • Experience leading a continuous delivery software team.
  • Experience owning productions systems and maintaining them overtime.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and servant leadership. Able to rally the team through challenges.
  • Excellent communication, follow-up, and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to communicate with stakeholders creating compelling narratives, influencing decisions, managing conflict and building consensus.
  • Excellent organization, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • The benefits of this position include group health insurance including medical, dental, vision, and ancillary plans. As well as 401k match, life insurance, long-term disability, and paid time off. Starting salary $125,000 + 30% based on skills and experience level. This position is eligible for an annual corporate bonus based on company and individual performance.
