About this opportunity:
MINI-LINK is a well-known trademark of Ericsson's microwave transport solution within the radio system with more than 5 million sold units. MINI-LINK is a scalable, flexible, modular and robust microwave transmission system used primarily in mobile networks, supporting both TDM and Ethernet traffic.
Microwave Unit within Ericsson Hungary R&D is looking for an AI/Data Engineer. We are building an AI platform that enables teams across Microwave (~400 people) to develop, deploy, and run AI applications as part of their everyday work. The goal is simple: remove friction, lower the barrier of entry, and make AI capabilities accessible at scale.
Ericsson Hungary does not provide relocation support or sponsor HU work authorizations for this position.
What you will do:
- Develop and operate the compute and data infrastructure, internal AI application platforms, and integration layers (such as APIs) that power this initiative
- Work closely with experts across infrastructure, data, and AI domains to shape solutions and ensure the platform meets real-world needs.
- Help engineers, developers, and domain experts across Microwave to work more efficiently, increase productivity, and leverage AI capabilities in their daily workflows, while the platform handles scalability, reliability, and operational complexity
- Help turn AI from isolated experiments into capabilities that deliver measurable impact across the organization.
The skills you bring:
- Software engineering background
- Hands-on experience with Linux-based environments
- DevOps mindset (focused on automation, reliability, and scalable platform engineering)
- You should have experience with, or a strong interest in learning the following or comparable competences:
- Python, Linux
- Kubernetes, AWS, Helm
- DevOps practices, containerization technologies
- API development and integration
- AI Platforms (e.g. Amazon Bedrock, Flowise, Dify)
- AI Agent Frameworks (e.g. LangChain)
- Data Engineering and Databases
- Not fazed by complex and complicated problems
- Not afraid of going outside your comfort zone by reaching out to new people
- Service minded and a good communicator (in English)
- Passionate about learning and exploring new things
