We’re looking for a skilled Data Engineer to help design, build, and optimize the data systems that power our regulatory reporting and analytics. You’ll take ownership of our PostgreSQL environment and Airflow pipelines, ensuring performance, reliability, and data integrity across critical reporting workflows.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of commercial experience as a Data Engineer (or similar role)
- Strong SQL (ability to write and optimize complex queries)
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift: performance tuning basics, distribution/sort keys, query profiling, workload considerations
- Experience building and operating workflows in Apache Airflow (dependencies, retries, SLAs, failure handling)
- Proficiency with Python for data engineering tasks (scripting, automation, integrations)
- Experience with AWS data stack: S3 (required), plus familiarity with EC2/ECR/EMR is a plus
- Familiarity with Spark, Snowflake
- Version control and delivery practices: Git, code reviews, CI/CD basics
- Data quality mindset: validation checks, documentation, and auditability
- Experience with Spark, Snowflake
- Experience with Kafka or other streaming systems
- Experience with monitoring/logging/auditing practices (DevOps/MLOps mindset)

Responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop the data platform architecture and data pipelines
- Build and optimize ELT/ETL workflows using SQL, Amazon Redshift, Airflow, S3 and Python
- Assemble large, complex datasets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements
- Design and implement data transformations, validations, and deliveries to reporting targets (Tableau and internal consumers)
- Improve internal processes: automate manual steps, optimize data delivery, redesign components for scalability, implement monitoring and alerting
- Collaborate with Analytics, Data Science, and other cross-functional teams to collect requirements and provide a high-quality service
- Champion data quality, governance, and compliance: lineage/documentation, auditability, and secure handling of sensitive data
