As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data solutions to support analytics and business intelligence initiatives. You will develop and optimize data pipelines, contribute to scalable data architecture, and implement data management processes that ensure the accuracy, quality, and availability of data across the organization. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making through reliable and efficient data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Data Pipeline Development

• Design, build, and maintain efficient and reliable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to collect, integrate, and prepare data from a variety of structured and unstructured sources.

• Develop scalable and high-performance data pipelines that support data ingestion, transformation, and delivery for analytical and operational use cases.

Data Architecture Support

• Collaborate with data architects and senior engineers to implement scalable data architecture solutions.

• Evaluate data storage and processing technologies to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.

Data Quality and Governance

• Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and transformation logic to ensure accurate and reliable data outputs.

• Contribute to data governance efforts by documenting lineage, definitions, and standards across datasets.
   

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with data scientists, analysts, product teams, and business stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.

• Participate in solution design discussions and provide input on feasibility and implementation strategies.
   

Performance Optimization

• Optimize data workflows and queries to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and scale to handle growing data volumes.

• Apply techniques such as indexing, partitioning, and parallel processing to enhance performance.
   

Documentation and Process Improvements

• Maintain thorough documentation of data flows, transformation logic, and standard operating procedures.

• Support the adoption of best practices in data engineering including version control, testing, and CI/CD for data workflows.
   

Learning and Innovation

• Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies in the data engineering and analytics landscape.

• Proactively identify opportunities to improve existing systems, introduce automation, and reduce technical debt.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field with a strong focus on building data pipelines and systems.

• Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages used in data processing.

• Strong command of SQL and experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).

• Experience with Snowflake and ETL tools such as Matillion or similar platforms.

• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI) and big data tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka) is a plus.

• Knowledge of data security, privacy, and quality best practices.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented mindset.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and functions.
