We run and develop digital solutions used by customers and co-workers enabling them to design homes and home furnishing solutions for the entire IKEA range for all IKEA retailers. Job DescriptionBeing a Data Engineer in the Range Experience team:
As a Data Engineer in the Range Experience team, you will be responsible to design, build and maintain the data pipelines and tools that enable our teams to work in a data driven way. You will work very close to other Data engineers, Data scientists, Product teams and other stakeholders. You will be part of creating solutions that enable customers to design any space in their homes and businesses and configure home furnishing solutions digitally. Exploring and utilising different technologies and approaches to achieve the best result is a natural part of everything you do. With your data driven mindset you are a strong ambassador and driver for the data literacy and culture in Range Experience.
As a Data Engineer you will:
- Transform data into an analyzable format (ETL/ELT) to deliver business benefits.
- Develop and maintain infrastructures for data sourcing, processing, and sharing.
- Optimize, test, and implement tools to enhance data quality and monitor drift and decay.
- Manage data integration, processing, and modeling.
- Provide APIs for standardized data sharing and access.
- Translate business data needs into technical solutions and architectures.
- Ensure compliance with security, legal, and delivery standards.
- Support and coach teams in data-driven development.
- Document and share knowledge on data infrastructure within IKEA.
- Apply best practices in CI/CD and maintain cost-effective solutions.
We are looking for new colleagues with:
- Extensive experience in designing data pipelines, data warehousing, data modeling, and database design.
- Strong expertise in Python, SQL, and other database scripting languages, as well as general-purpose data handling languages.
- Good knowledge of industry-standard software development languages and deep understanding of on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures.
- A team player who takes ownership, builds cross-functional relationships with senior peers, and enjoys mentoring junior team members.
- A curious, world-class problem solver with a passion for continuous learning.

Additional InformationThis role is full-time (40 hours per week) and is based in Malmö, Sweden. Travelling based on business needs might be necessary. This role sits within Range Experience and reports to the Niklas Skarstam the Software Engineering Manager.
