Purpose of the role:
At Infobip, data engineers are focused on improving the process of identifying valuable critical data, collecting, structuring, and utilizing data to create comprehensive analytics to support different aspects of our business streams.

Our team develops insights used in various scenarios with a curious and business-driven mindset. We work on understanding customer satisfaction, defining and tracking key business metrics, and informing the future roadmap for data-driven decision-making that will push our company to the edge of innovation.

As a technology-agnostic company, we seek optimal technical solutions so you will work on various tools and DWH/BI/ML platforms using different programming languages.

In this role, you will partner with solution/information architects, managers, analysts, and engineers across the globe to enable timely and actionable insights aligned with the business’s key strategies. You will perform deep analyses to understand customer usage patterns and behaviors in conjunction with our broader analytics stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:

  • In cooperation with architects, analyze stakeholder requirements for information and analytics needs, and identify pain points and areas of improvement in the current setup.

  • Process evaluation, mapping, and design improvements by evaluating methodologies and assuring implementation of best practices.

  • Cooperate with engineers, product managers, product analysts, the sales organization, and decision-makers to understand data needs and manage cloud-based DWH and functional DataMart development plans for different subject areas (i.e., Customer 360, products, profitability, sales process improvements…).

  • Design, build, test, launch, and monitor efficient cloud-based data mapping, assuring seamless process integration within the data analytics tools stack to improve data-driven decision-making for internal and external stakeholders.

  • ETL development, debugging, optimizing performance, and deploying to production.

  • Optimize data retrieval from internal data sources, and understand how to develop dashboards, reports, and other visualizations for stakeholders.

  • Prepare and document the end-to-end technical process, data flow specifications, and code, ensuring optimal integration with current systems and applications.

  • Assure seamless process integration within the data analytics tools stack to improve data-driven decision-making.

  • Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.

  • Participate in data governance and quality assurance processes.


Preferred qualifications:

  • At least 3+ years in DWH/BI space, ETL design and development, and usage of SQL/PLSQL/TSQL and some other data integration tool (i.e., SSIS, Informatica, OWB, ODI, SAS DI Studio, IBM Data Stage).

  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies related to data management (cloud computing services preferred) and data science.

  • Experience designing on-premises data models and data warehouses and using SQL or NoSQL database management systems (i.e., MS SQL Server, Oracle RDBMS, IBM DB2, Hadoop stack, NoSQL engine).

  • Experience in the design and implementation of cloud-based data platform architecture is an advantage.

  • Data architecture experience across data platforms, APIs, and Azure cloud architectures.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft cloud computing services (i.e., Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure Data Lake, HDInsight, Azure Synapse, Azure ML).

  • Excellent debugging, critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with data governance and agile methodology is an advantage.

  • Proven track record of working with noisy, dirty, and unstructured data. Data cleansing, scraping unstructured data, and converting it into structured data are preferred.

  • Experience working with either a MapReduce or an MPP system, as well as experience with big data technology or general-purpose language (HDFS, Hive, Pig, Spark, Kafka, Python, R) is preferred.

  • Knowledge of and experience supporting REST APIs, JSON as a data source is preferred.
