Join our team as a Data Engineer (ETL and Data Modelling) and contribute to our mission of leveraging data to drive meaningful insights and deliver innovative solutions for our clients.
What will you do?
• Design, develop and implement robust and efficient data models, specializing in Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deeply understand business requirements, translating them into effective data models that support the organization's data-driven initiatives.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance conceptual, logical, and physical data models, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and standards.
• Conduct thorough analysis of data sources, identifying patterns and relationships, and translating these insights into comprehensive data models.
• Implement advanced data modeling techniques, including normalization, indexing, and partitioning, to optimize data storage, retrieval, and analysis processes.
• Integrate data models into ETL processes, ensuring data integrity and consistency throughout the entire data pipeline.
• Collaborate with database administrators and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration of data models into the overall data architecture.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to data engineering, data modeling, and ETL processes.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization of existing data models, proactively identifying and addressing any issues or bottlenecks.
• Document data modeling and ETL processes, methodologies, and decisions, fostering knowledge sharing and providing clear documentation for future reference.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the data engineering team, promoting knowledge transfer, a culture of continuous learning and skills development.
We are looking for:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
• Proven work experience of 6+ years as a Data Engineer with a significant focus on data modeling and ETL processes.
• Expertise in SQL and proficiency in data modeling techniques across conceptual, logical, and physical dimensions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into effective data models.
• In-depth knowledge of database systems (both relational and NoSQL) and experience with data warehousing concepts.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, with the ability to write efficient and maintainable code.
• Hands-on experience with data integration tools and a strong familiarity with cloud-based data warehousing and processing is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive and self-driven, with a strong desire to stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in data modeling and ETL processes.
