The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data and analytics cloud-based analytics platforms (DAP) and pipelines that acquire, cleanse, transform, and publish data from a wide variety of sources.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble large complex data sets which meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
Partner with data asset managers, architects, and development leads to ensure a technical solution provides data which is fit for use and in line with architecture blueprints.
Contribute to and leverage coding standards and best practices to ensure services and components are efficient and reusable.
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements.
Job Qualifications
Experience in data engineering, business intelligence, data science, or a related field.
Strong understanding of Power BI semantic models, DAX, and analytical data modeling.
Experience with Power BI, including working with datasets, measures, relationships, and report-facing data structures.
Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data processing, transformation, and analysis.
Experience with Databricks or similar platforms for data engineering tasks.
Knowledge of Spark SQL, Delta Lake, and lakehouse-based data processing concepts.
Understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and cloud-based data architecture.
Familiarity with Azure data services, preferably Azure Databricks and Azure Data Lake.
Familiarity with Git, pull requests, branching strategies, and collaborative development practices.
Basic understanding of CI/CD practices for data pipelines and analytical solutions.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Nice to have:
Experience developing or maintaining large Power BI semantic models / Tabular models.
Knowledge of TMDL, Tabular Editor or Power BI deployment pipelines.
Experience with dimensional modeling, star schemas, data marts, or medallion architecture.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD implementation using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
Knowledge of GitFlow branching model.
Experience with performance optimization in Power BI, DAX, Spark, or Databricks.
Certifications: Azure Associate Data Engineer (DP-203), Databricks Professional Data Engineer, Apache Spark Developer Associate.
