Key Responsibilities
- As a data engineer, you will develop solutions to complex business problems which combine industry standard practices with innovation. This position offers exposure to a wide variety of analytic tools and technologies. Be ready to meet data challenges head-on as you develop and refine data processes to marry data from multiple structured and unstructured data sources which ultimately feed into the creation, evaluation, implementation, and maintenance.
- Partner with Stakeholders: Work closely with business partners and peers to understand business challenges, gather requirements, and facilitate seamless data integration.
- Build Data Solutions: Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and modeling solutions that support business objectives and drive performance improvements.
- Analytics Execution: Lead all phases of analytics initiatives, including exploratory data analysis, preprocessing, model development, and deployment.
- Data Synthesis & Insights: Analyze and synthesize data from multiple structured and unstructured sources to uncover trends, assess business impact, and recommend actionable improvements.
- Relationship Management: Foster strong working relationships across Chubb’s business, IT, and analytics teams to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
- Communication: Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in clear, concise written, oral, and presentation formats.
Requirements
- Intellectually curious out-of-the-box thinker who is passionate about brainstorming innovative ways to use data to solve business problems
- SQL & Database Expertise: Advanced SQL skills and strong understanding of database architectures and data extraction techniques.
- Data Modeling & Governance: Proven experience in data modeling and data governance, ensuring data quality and compliance.
- Data Operations: Experience in setting up and maintaining data extraction, collection, cleansing, and organization processes.
- Emerging Technologies: Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Azure Synapse, Databricks, and Snowflake.
- Adaptability & Problem Solving: Ability to multi-task, learn quickly, solve complex problems, and stay current with industry trends
- Proficient in both written and spoken English and Spanish at an advanced level.
Experience
- 4+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, product development, and/or data governance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent field. Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field such as statistics, operations research, economics, computer science preferred (graduate degree is a plus).
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively across the full spectrum of internal stakeholders and customers.
