ResponsibilitiesPosition Description:The Data Engineer – Jr supports the design, development, and sustainment of data pipelines, data integration, and basic data infrastructure that enable analytics and AI/ML solutions for CD&I. This position focuses on ingesting, transforming, and preparing data from multiple USMC and DoW systems for use by analysts, data scientists, and operational stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in building and maintaining pipelines to move and transform data from source systems into analytic data stores.
- Implement basic data quality checks, validation routines, and data cleansing processes.
- Support the integration of structured and semi-structured data sources relevant to capability development and experimentation.
- Work with senior data engineers and analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical tasks.
- Contribute to the documentation of data flows, schemas, and data dictionaries.
- Implement basic data security and access controls in accordance with DoW/USMC policies and best practices.
- Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and support operations and maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
- 0–3 years of experience in data engineering, database development, or related technical role.
- Basic experience with SQL and at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python).
- Familiarity with relational databases and concepts such as tables, views, indices, and joins.
- Ability to work in a team environment and follow established engineering standards and practices.
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience supporting DoW/USMC or other Federal customers.
