We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team as an independent contributor. In this role, you will work with existing Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) and SSIS environments to take business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that will drive significant revenue and costs savings for Dun and Bradstreet. This role requires a strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to independently identify issues, determine root causes, propose possible solutions, and implement the chosen solution. You will play a key role in solving complex data challenges, contributing to major projects that impact business performance.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and improve MSSQL applications and SSIS processes to enhance existing functionality and support new business requirements.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve complex data-related issues through root cause analysis and by proposing viable solutions to leadership
- Design and implement solutions based on business requirements and technical constraints, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Maintain and optimize backend data pipelines and processes in MSSQL and SSIS to improve data flows and decision making.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data processes, identifying issues in real-time and taking proactive measures to resolve them.
- Collaborate with product owners and peer engineering teams to develop and deliver advanced software solutions, ensuring business continuity.
- Conduct code reviews and collaborate with team members to test and validate code changes as needed.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation on data architecture, including design specifications, data dictionaries, and operational procedures.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree (preferable in computer science, mathematics, data science, or a related field)
- Experience with MSSQL for application development (7-10 years)
- Experience with SQL for data analysis and querying (7-10 years)
- Proficiency in version control systems, particularly Git.
- Ability to work independently to deliver critical projects on time
- Ability to work closely with others to problem solve
