Job DescriptionWe are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of our IT ecosystem for new services for Latvian energy consumers. You will work closely with our Data Science/AI team to design, develop, and manage our data pipelines, ensuring data quality and enabling seamless data access for our core systems, analytics, and machine learning and AI initiatives. You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:
- Designing, building, and maintaining scalable and reliable ETL/ELT pipelines
- Developing and maintaining APIs for data integration with various systems
- Overseeing database design, implementation, and optimization to ensure high performance and reliability
- Implementing and enforcing data quality checks and governance policies to ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Working closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and providing them with the right data solutions
- Proactively monitoring our data systems, troubleshoot issues, and performing regular maintenance to ensure high availability
- Strong experience in data pipeline construction and ETL/ELT processes
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience with API development and integration
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in Latvian and English (oral and written) as this role involves regular communication with international colleagues and partners
