Description:Responsible primarily for production support and optimization efforts while participating in supporting new development with Product Engineering team.

POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for the development, testing and documentation of complex data transformations and services to enable the analysis of information to support strategic initiatives and ongoing business requirements for Trinity Health. Advanced technical skills in order to design, code and test complex transformations while maintaining existing environments. Develops data transformation solutions using Informatica PowerCenter, Data Services, Shell scripts and advance SQL. Assists in database performance tuning including analyzing and tuning of complex SQL statements. Leads the data transformation solution life-cycle, transformation standards, best practices and procedures. Possess a deep understanding of our customers and how they are using data to drive their business and achieve their goals. Serve as a mentor to fellow entry Data Developers in assisting in the creation of a sustainable data warehouse ecosystem.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides leadership on technical projects, assignments and analysis. Develops complex ETL solutions for interfacing, data replication, and bulk load transfers and or near-real-time processes and the integration of value added or data enhancement processes.
- Utilizes and serves as an expert in different data modeling methodologies including STAR, Snowflake and 3NF.
- Designs, develops and supports ETL solutions for BI and Analytics applications.
- Responsible for identifying and tuning poor performing SQL.
- Works in teams and in a self-directed work environment.
- Provides production support for data transformation jobs.
- Identifies and troubleshoots ETL performance issues.
- Leads peer reviews of solution designs and related code reviews.
- Designs and deploys job workflows.
- Mentors and assists in training entry Data Developers.
- Works closely with the PMO to estimate level of effort for proposed projects.
- Complies with and monitors ETL team adherence to established standards and procedures related to development activities (e.g., coding standards, version control, change management, etc.).
- Continues to develop data transformation skills by researching new technologies and best practices.
- Provides daily support for ETL processes and extracts and participates in an On-Call rotation. Defines, maintains and improves standards and processes for ETL and related tools.
- Creates and maintains technical documentation for data transformation procedures.
- Works closely with Architecture ensuring implementation of ETL best practices and designs.
- Reinforces the vision and direction of the Enterprise Informatics Organization.

- Structure data aligned with the Medallion Architecture in Azure Synapse and Microsoft Fabric
- Maintain rigorous data validation processes to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of data across all systems and reports
- Leverage automation and orchestration tools to streamline the implementation processes
- Refine data with notebooks, dataflows, and data factory within Microsoft Synapse and Fabric

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare or information technology or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Minimum of seven (7) years' experience in Information Technology of which five (5) years' experience is working as a Data Developer in a large data warehouse and business intelligence environment.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience working with data development technologies such as Informatica, Data Stage or MS SSIS.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience writing and tuning advance SQL.
- Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare nomenclature, preferred.
- Expertise in different data modeling methodologies including STAR, Snowflake and 3NF.
- Strong proficiency in leading technical projects, assignments and analysis.
- Interfaces with director level and staff positions.
- Experience working with multiple healthcare business disciplines including Operations, Finance, Clinical and Administration.
- Excellent organization, analytical, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

- Hands-on experience working with Azure Synapse or Microsoft Fabric
- Advanced knowledge of T-SQL
- Experience with Azure data services, including Azure Data Lake, SQL, and Data Factory
- Experience with parquet files formats and delta lakes
- Experience with practical applications of Python for data transformations and notebooks
- Experience with Microsoft Purview or similar data governance platform
- Familiarity with Medallion Architecture concepts like bronze, silver, and gold layers
- Knowledge of DevOps processes and version control fundamentals
