We are seeking a Data Architect to join our team at Independent Living Systems (ILS). ILS, along with its affiliated health plans known as Florida Community Care and Florida Complete Care, is committed to promoting a higher quality of life and maximizing independence for all vulnerable populations.

About the Role:

As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for designing, creating, and managing comprehensive data frameworks that support critical healthcare operations and decision-making processes. Your role will ensure that data systems are scalable, secure, and compliant with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, enabling seamless integration and accessibility of patient and organizational data. You will collaborate closely with IT teams, data scientists, and healthcare professionals to translate complex business requirements into effective data models and architectures. By optimizing data flow and storage solutions, you will enhance the quality and reliability of healthcare analytics and reporting. Ultimately, your work will empower the organization to leverage data-driven insights to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Architect or similar role, preferably within the healthcare sector.
  • Strong knowledge of database management systems, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field or advanced certifications in data architecture or healthcare IT.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of programming languages like Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Experience working with healthcare analytics tools and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and data security best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data architecture and data models tailored to healthcare data needs.
  • Ensure data systems comply with healthcare regulations and data privacy standards, including HIPAA.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
  • Implement data integration strategies to consolidate data from multiple sources for unified access and analysis.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, data quality, and security across healthcare applications.
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies and best practices within the organization.
  • Support data migration, transformation, and ETL processes to maintain data integrity and availability.
  • Stay current with emerging data technologies and healthcare industry trends to recommend improvements.

Skills Required
