HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- As a Data Analyst at ZURU, your role will be pivotal in refining our marketing analysis strategies. Your proficiency in managing complex data sets and deriving actionable insights will be instrumental in guiding our teams towards making informed, data-centric decisions. This will enhance the efficacy of our campaigns and strengthen our market presence.
- Your ability to move at speed, collaborating across fast-moving teams and acting on rapidly shifting social and paid media trends, is crucial. You'll play a key role in mentoring and developing junior analysts, helping them to grow their technical capabilities and analytical mindsets, and building a culture of curiosity and impact.
- You will be a catalyst for fostering a culture of ongoing improvement and innovation in our data analytics practices, establishing new benchmarks in data accuracy and analytical methodologies. Your contributions as a Data Analyst are vital to driving ZURU's international growth and success, leveraging impactful data analysis, visualisations, and strategic insights.
CORE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own how we measure, analyse and report on marketing and paid media performance to drive clear business impact.
- Design, build and maintain marketing dashboards and reports with Marketing, Data Engineering and offshore teams.
- Develop frameworks to analyse creative and content performance, and find insights to optimise spend across channels.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency and quality by partnering with Data Engineering, standardising models and managing offshore support.
- Present insights and recommendations to senior leaders, embed analytics into strategic decisions and help drive a data-driven culture.
- Mentor junior analysts, foster technical growth and build a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience in a data or analytics role, ideally within marketing or commercial domains. Experience in paid media or marketing analytics is a strong plus.
- Hands-on experience working with large, complex, and unstructured datasets, with the ability to manage, transform, and analyse data efficiently.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and familiarity with modern data stacks. Experience with Databricks, Spark, or similar cloud data platforms is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes; able to work closely with data engineering teams to integrate and optimise data pipelines.
- Demonstrated ability to derive actionable insights and translate data into meaningful business strategies and performance improvements.
- Proven experience designing and developing Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data visualisation techniques.
- A strong passion for data, analytics, and continuous improvement, always looking for ways to make insights clearer and more impactful.
- Bonus: Familiarity with paid media platforms (Google, Meta, TikTok, The Trade Desk)
- This is a permanent, full time role based at our Auckland office.
- Salary: 70,000 - 90,000 per annum.
