Job Objective:

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about data analysis and excellent at problem solving to join our Medical Economics team in Cigna International Health Data.

Medical Economics aims to assist decision making by offering a clear framework based on the principle of efficiency, in this role you will utilize data insights to identify areas of opportunity and concerns to be addressed by the business.

You will be expected to apply your technical skills and provide easily interpretable insights to deliver analysis and analytics products to create value.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in cost containment projects to deliver stated savings and explore new opportunities.
  • Partner with global stakeholders within Network, FWA, Clinical and Operations in order to align outcomes to expectations.
  • Prepare and present key strategic and tactical analytics using Business Intelligence reporting tools to both managerial and front-line partners to drive improvements in customer experience and healthcare costs.
  • Present data that provides insights into key improvement opportunities, savings opportunities and case management opportunities.
  • Moreover, develop technical solutions to improve predictive modeling with respect to medical cost and clinical outcomes.
  • Develop insight into member and care provider performance and the variables affecting performance.
  • Enhance Cigna’s Reasonable and Customary (R&C) medical cost structure to drive incremental value in support of Cigna’s affordability strategy.
  • Manage the provision and consolidation of data and analytics as needed to support the creation of an R&C reference model for designated regions
  • Define a consistent R&C framework, in designing a user database and in translating into work streams.
  • Be able to gather data from multiple sources using multiple technologies (SQL, Python, QlikView, Tableau, Excel, etc.) and consolidate into global dashboards and reports ready to be presented to senior leaders.
  • Ensure communications are timely and delivered to appropriate audiences on any developments resulting in risks and/or opportunities to the plan.
  • Give attention to detail to uncover data gaps and inconsistencies. Ability to deliver reports under tight deadlines.
  • Automate business functions that have a material manual components
  • Work with Data Engineering and Cloud Engineering to keep abreast of data ingestion and data enrichment including first and third party data.
  • Work with Data Management and Governance to ensure full compliance of data protection and artificial intelligence ethics.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Biostatistics, Statistics, MIS or Finance, Master’s degree a plus
  • 5+ years’ experience in business reporting and analytical roles required.
  • 3+ years of experience in managed care, medical cost reporting and analytics for the health insurance industry required. Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, cost components, contracting methodologies. International health insurance experience a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated analytical capabilities related to clinical and financial process improvements.
  • Ability to apply technological solutions to business problems to deliver superior results especially with respect to automating existing manual processes and providing new ways to leverage existing data to expand the scope and influence medical cost savings initiatives
  • Demonstrated proficiency using most of the following: SQL, Python, QlikView, Tableau and Excel. Experience working with a variety of information systems and data files, including large and complex files: analyzing file structure, using, and creating file layouts, transforming data into finished products.
  • Accomplished ability to manage multiple timelines and competing priorities.
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills; additional languages an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills, out-of-the-box thinking, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in Cloud computing preferably Amazon Web Services, Sagemaker, Athena, etc.
