Data Analyst – RFQ, Proposal & Business Performance Analytics

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to support customer’s Program Management and Business Development organization. This role will be responsible for tracking and analyzing the end-to-end opportunity pipeline from RFQ receipt through quote submission, negotiation, contract award, and program kickoff.

The analyst will transform business development, estimating, proposal, and program data into actionable insights that improve bid management, enhance forecasting accuracy, increase win rates, and provide leadership visibility into opportunity conversion performance.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience managing large datasets, and the ability to develop executive scorecards, dashboards, and business performance analytics.

Industry Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related discipline, with 3–7 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or performance analytics roles.

    Proven experience working with large datasets and developing executive dashboards, scorecards, and business performance reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and SQL.

    Prior experience supporting Program Management, Business Development, Estimating, Proposal Management, Sales Operations, or RFQ-to-Award processes is highly desirable.

    Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the aerospace, manufacturing, defense, or industrial sectors, including exposure to opportunity pipeline management, win-rate analysis, forecasting, and KPI framework development.

    Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to transform complex business data into actionable insights and leadership-ready recommendations.

Key Responsibilities: Summary of Responsibilities & Skills

    Track and manage the complete RFQ-to-Award lifecycle, including RFQ receipt, quote submission, negotiations, award decisions, and program handoff.

    Collect, consolidate, validate, and maintain opportunity, proposal, and award data from multiple business systems.

    Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools that provide visibility into pipeline health and business performance.

    Analyze RFQ volumes, proposal activity, quote turnaround times, award rates, win/loss performance, and revenue opportunities.

    Perform month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter, and year-over-year trend analysis to identify business growth patterns and performance gaps.

    Generate actionable insights on customer activity, opportunity conversion rates, business segment performance, and program trends.

    Create executive-level reports and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and PowerPoint for leadership reviews.

    Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as RFQs received, quotes submitted, proposals pending, awards won, pipeline value, and forecasted revenue.

    Conduct comparative analysis across customers, product lines, business sectors, manufacturing sites, and program portfolios.

    Support forecasting activities by providing visibility into near-term awards, future revenue potential, and business growth opportunities.

    Collaborate closely with Program Management, Estimating, Sales, Engineering, and Business Development teams to improve data quality and reporting effectiveness.

    Identify bottlenecks in the proposal and quotation process and recommend process improvements to enhance responsiveness and win rates.

    Standardize KPI definitions, reporting methodologies, and dashboard formats to enable consistent reporting across the organization.

    Drive continuous improvement through automation of reports, enhancement of analytics capabilities, and development of scalable business intelligence solutions.

    Present data-driven insights and recommendations to management to support strategic decision-making and business growth initiatives. 

Technical Skills:

    Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced), SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and PowerPoint for data analysis, dashboard development, executive reporting, and business performance monitoring.

    Experience working with large, complex datasets, including data extraction, cleansing, transformation, validation, and trend analysis.

    Ability to develop and maintain RFQ-to-Award dashboards, KPI scorecards, pipeline reports, and revenue forecasting models.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, conversion drivers, business risks, and growth opportunities.

    Experience performing win/loss analysis, opportunity pipeline tracking, proposal performance measurement, and business forecasting.

    Effective data storytelling and executive communication skills, capable of translating complex data into actionable insights and leadership recommendations.

    Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across Program Management, Business Development, Estimating, Engineering, and Operations teams.

    Continuous improvement mindset with experience standardizing reporting processes, automating analytics, improving data quality, and implementing scalable business intelligence solutions.
