This role partners with business subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand reporting requirements, collaborates with engineering teams to source and prepare data within Azure and Microsoft Fabric, and develops business intelligence dashboards using Power BI and Tableau. The analyst operates in an agile environment and develops foundational expertise in data pipelines, data modeling, and modern analytics platforms to enable data-driven decision-making across Medical Stop Loss operations.Key Responsibilities:Business & Requirements Collaboration
- Partner with business SMEs (e.g., underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance) to understand data needs, KPIs, and reporting requirements
- Facilitate requirement gathering sessions and document business rules, definitions, and metrics
- Translating business needs into structured data and reporting requirements for engineering teams
- Support prioritization of backlog items based on business value and delivery feasibility
- Perform data analysis, profiling, and validation across multiple enterprise data sources
- Identify and troubleshoot data quality issues in collaboration with engineering teams
- Organize and synthesize data into actionable insights for business stakeholders
- Support definition and validation of data models and semantic layers
- Work closely with data engineers to support development of data pipelines in Azure and Microsoft Fabric
- Assist in defining requirements for data ingestion, transformation, and storage (e.g., Lakehouse, Dataflows)
- Validate datasets produced through pipelines to ensure business accuracy and completeness
- Contribute to documentation of data lineage, transformations, and data definitions
- Design and develop dashboards and reports using Power BI (primary) and Tableau (secondary)
- Build intuitive visualizations and data models within Fabric/Power BI semantic models
- Ensure consistency in metric definitions and reporting standards across the organization
- Maintain and enhance existing reports for performance, usability, and scalability
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
- Provide clear communication on progress, risks, and dependencies
- Maintain documentation for requirements, reports, and data definitions
- Continuously build skills in Azure, Fabric, and analytics best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1-3 Years Experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related field.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1-3 years experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related field
- Experience designing and developing dashboards and reports using Power BI
- Experience with Tableau (secondary)
- Experience with Azure and Microsoft Fabric, including data pipelines, Lakehouse, and Dataflows
- Experience with data modeling, data profiling, validation, and troubleshooting data quality issues
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and participating in ceremonies
