This role is positioned in Core Business Range. You will belong to the Data & Analytics team, reporting to the Team Manager. We are enabling data democratization through scalable self-service capabilities and AI enablement, while ensuring high-quality, timely, and cost-efficient data solutions that support IIG in making more informed and effective business decisions.
Our team is based in Älmhult. We believe that your presence with the team and working the majority of the time in the workplace is important.
Your new job
As a Data Analyst, you’ll play an important part in the team and bring valuable IKEA knowledge into a new setting. The Data Analyst function supports the transformation of IKEA into a more data-driven company by extracting and sharing deep insights from complex internal and external data sources. It enables cross-functional data product teams to make evidence-based decisions through advanced data exploration, analysis, visualization, performance measurement, and hypothesis testing, ultimately improving business performance and delivering a better customer experience. On a typical working day, you will:
- Lead, grow, and develop a central team of Data Analysts, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Ensure and promote data-informed decision-making to improve business performance, working within cross-functional data product teams.
- Ensure solutions continuously deliver value to Inter IKEA Group by working closely with stakeholders across different functions and adapting to evolving business needs.
- Evaluate the usability and potential of structured internal and external data sources for product analytics and data-driven decision-making.
- Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data as part of robust data processing pipelines, using joins, nesting, and advanced operations.
- Conduct advanced data exploration and analysis using modern data mining techniques (including machine learning) and visualization tools to generate actionable insights.
Qualifications
What we’d like you to bring to the table
The role as a Data Analyst requires you to have:
- Expertise in building scalable analytics and insight products (e.g., Power BI), with a good ability to translate business needs into actionable data solutions and storytelling-driven dashboards.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, including use of notebook environments to analyze data, share insights, and enable reproducible analytics workflows.
- Strong understanding of data mining techniques and data exploration across large datasets to support decision-making and uncover business opportunities.
- Solid foundation in probability and statistics, including hypothesis testing and experimental design (e.g., A/B testing) to validate business hypotheses.
- Experience with data engineering concepts and end-to-end data pipelines, with the ability to understand the full lifecycle from raw data sources to business insight.
- Familiarity with collaborative software engineering practices (Agile, DevOps) and data product development principles focused on iterative delivery and continuous improvement.
It’s a plus if you also:
- Have experience building analytics or insight products at scale
- Have experience working with hypothesis testing, A/B testing or performance measurement
