Kroll Business Services (KBS) — one of the highest-performing business units within Kroll — is seeking a skilled and motivated Data Analyst II to join our fast-paced Production Operations team.

This position supports day-to-day operational and client-driven data requests, report generation, and analysis across Kroll’s Restructuring and Settlement Administration businesses.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and passionate about data quality. You will handle multiple priorities in a ticket-driven environment, performing analysis, cleansing, parsing, and validation of large datasets under tight turnaround times.

As KBS continues to modernize its data infrastructure, this role will also have opportunities to gain exposure to cloud-based analytics platforms, including Databricks and related technologies, as part of our long-term data transformation strategy.

This role is ideal for someone with solid hands-on SQL and Excel experience who is ready to deepen their analytics and data operations expertise in a collaborative, global environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform intake and initial data assessments, analyzing data files for structure, consistency, and quality issues.

  • Cleanse, transform, and prepare datasets for reporting and analysis.

  • Execute ad hoc data requests and recurring data refreshes with accuracy and timeliness.

  • Partner with senior analysts and business stakeholders to interpret requirements, clarify parameters, and deliver reliable data outputs.

  • Develop and maintain SQL queries, Excel models, and scripts to support operational and client reporting.

  • Validate incoming and outgoing data for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with expected parameters.

  • Document processes and datasets for repeatability and transparency.

  • Contribute to process improvements, automation, and standardization initiatives under senior guidance.

  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.

  • Participate in QA checks to ensure data integrity and alignment with client and internal standards.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means developing a deep understanding of the businesses KBS supports, particularly those within claims administration.

Strong communication will be critical to success. The Data Analyst II must work closely with business partners to interpret the data we receive from our clients, confirm requirements, and ensure we are delivering high-quality, reliable work products.

You’ll build credibility by:

  • Understanding the purpose and context of the data, not just its structure.

  • Translating technical details into business terms for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proactively identifying potential issues in data before they reach downstream consumers.

  • Consistently producing clean, well-documented, and accurate datasets that meet business needs.

The hallmark of a successful Data Analyst II is precision, curiosity, and clear communication — all in service of helping our teams make better, faster data-driven decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.

  • 3–5 years of experience in a data analyst, data operations, or reporting role.

  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and transforming data.

  • Intermediate-to-advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, data validation).

  • Experience with data cleansing, normalization, and validation techniques.

  • Understanding of relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.).

  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.

  • Comfortable working in a high-volume, deadline-driven production environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Python or R for data analysis and manipulation.

  • Familiarity with visualization tools such as Power BI.

  • Understanding of data quality management principles.

  • Exposure to modern data platforms such as Databricks, Spark, or Azure Data Factory is a strong plus.

  • Prior experience in financial, legal, or professional services environments.
