Nordson seeks an experienced data analyst with expertise in Power BI, MS Azure and Denodo. In your role as a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for Customer Requirements, Troubleshooting, Power BI Development, and Testing across functional teams and across multiple Nordson Business units. Your responsibilities include software development, customer interfacing, data analysis, and Denodo configuration with data initiatives and ensuring a consistent data delivery is put in place throughout ongoing projects.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and implement corporate Power BI solutions interfacing with Azure services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse and Azure Data Lake Storage
- Develop and maintain Service Now data to enact DnA solutions
- Understand and help maintain corporate Denodo architecture
- Create and maintain Denodo metadata
- Understand business objectives, define performance metrics and drive data-driven strategies to achieve them.
- Work cross-functionally to support multiple key stakeholders and provide insights
- Work with the DnA Team and Business users to create Business Intelligence visualizations
- Evaluate ServiceNow issues to identify and recommend solutions to strategic DnA issues
- Perform complex data analysis, identify the root cause of system and process issues, and develop solutions
- Assess the end-to-end process and identify opportunities for enhancement; develop dashboards and report insights
- Define objectives per business requirements; assist business analysts, data analysts, and data scientists in analyzing the data
Education and Experience Requirements
- Experience in large-scale datasets, analysing data to solve business problems, and presenting impactful insights to all levels of a corporate hierarchy
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL tools used in data modelling and data mining processes
- Experience in data warehousing and understanding of data extraction techniques like ETL processing
- Ability to collaborate with multiple business partners and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Interpret insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
- Technical leadership to mentor other analysts to ensure best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics or similar field
Preferred Skills and Abilities
- Experience in data analysis and developing technological business strategies
- Knowledge of SQL and cloud data warehousing technologies, including Denodo
- Strong analytical mindset and creative problem-solving skills
- Experience in using BI and data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI and Looker
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
