Data Analyst (Databricks / PySpark / Power BI) – Hybrid, Raleigh, NC

Incept is hiring a Data Analyst for a state government technology agency in Raleigh, NC. The role is hybrid, with up to three days a week onsite (Tuesday–Thursday). You’ll work hands-on in Databricks to analyze large datasets, build dashboards, and turn business needs into well-documented, analysis-ready data products. You’ll partner with a technical lead, data engineers, and business stakeholders.

What you’ll do

• Query and analyze large datasets in Databricks using Spark SQL and PySpark
• Gather and document business requirements and support change-management documentation
• Build detailed data mappings that bring data from many sources into structured, analysis-ready formats
• Design dashboards in Power BI and Databricks’ native visualization tools
• Build Gold-layer data products that power dashboards, APIs, and UI tools
• Partner with data engineers on design and delivery of high-quality data products
• Document pipelines, mappings, models, and dashboard functionality
• Apply statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning to find trends and insights
• Ensure data quality and integrity throughout

What you bring (5+ years each)

• Hands-on Databricks and PySpark experience
• Advanced Spark SQL: efficient, complex queries on large datasets
• Dashboard development in Power BI and Databricks visualizations
• Data mapping and data modeling
• Business requirements gathering and stakeholder collaboration
• Data quality and in-depth data analysis

• Must be able to work onsite in Raleigh up to 3 days a week
• Must be available for the full contract term through April 2027
• Start date: early November
