The Data Analyst will play a key role in transforming and operationalising the Bank’s data governance processes. The role combines data governance, workflow automation, AI agent development and stakeholder management, with responsibility for progressively automating existing Data Management and Governance activities and establishing scalable, technology-enabled ways of working.
The candidate will be responsible for transforming existing Data Management and Governance activities using automation and AI agents and continue to manage the agents of these activities. The incumbent will build, deploy and manage agents that support governance processes, including monitoring their operation, managing exceptions and continuously improving their effectiveness. These workflows include the operationalisation and oversight of Critical Reports and Critical Data Elements (CDEs), data quality monitoring, issue management and committee-related processes.
The candidate will also partner closely with stakeholders across the Bank to operationalise data governance over Critical Reports and expand this engagement to key business processes.
In addition, the incumbent will pioneer the establishment of the Bank's enterprise ontology, developing a structured representation of key business concepts and the relationships between data, business processes, systems, controls and other governance objects. This will establish a stronger semantic foundation for data discovery, governance and future AI/agent use cases.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operationalise and expand data governance activities across Critical Reports, Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and key business processes
- Manage core governance activities including data quality monitoring, issue management and reporting to management committee members
- Drive periodic reviews of Critical Reports, CDEs, business definitions, ownership, business rules and metadata.
- Identify and automate manual data management and governance workflows to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Design, build, deploy and manage AI agents to execute and monitor governance workflows, including appropriate controls and human oversight.
- Partner with stakeholders across all functions in the Bank to embed data governance requirements into BAU processes.
- Pioneer and establish the Bank’s enterprise ontology by defining business concepts, relationships and semantic standards; mapping them to data, processes, systems and controls; and implementing the governance required for its ongoing maintenance and adoption
- Leverage ontology, automation and agentic capabilities to strengthen the Bank’s data governance operating model and enable future AI use cases.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Business Analytics or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in data governance, data management, process automation, AI solutions or related areas, preferably within financial services or risk background.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, including data quality, metadata management, data ownership, critical data elements, data lineage, controls and issue management.
- Hands-on experience in workflow automation and AI/agent development, with the ability to design, build, deploy, monitor and continuously improve automated or agent-enabled workflows.
- Familiarity with agentic AI, APIs, workflow orchestration and low-code/no-code automation platforms; experience with Microsoft Power Platform and Copilot Studio would be advantageous.
- Knowledge or experience in ontology, knowledge graphs, semantic modelling or metadata modelling, with the ability to define business concepts and relationships across data, processes and systems.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across Business, Risk, Compliance, Operations and Technology and translate governance requirements into practical solutions.
- A proactive and curious problem-solver with a builder mindset and a strong understanding of controls and governance. Ability to navigate ambiguity and independently taking new ideas from concept through implementation and adoption.
