Driving Digital Transformation Through Insightful Analytics – Viby J.

Do you enjoy turning complex data into trusted insights that help an international business make better decisions? We are looking for a Data Analyst to join STARK Group IT in a 10-month maternity cover position from 1 October 2026 until 31 July 2027. As part of one of Northern Europe's largest digital transformation programmes, you will help turn business needs into trusted data, actionable insights, and scalable analytics solutions used across STARK Group.

If you are motivated by creating clarity from complexity and enjoy diving into data with a delivery focused mindset, this could be the role for you.

This role is based in Viby J, Aarhus.

Your impact and what you will deliver

You will join the STARK Group IT Data Management team, consisting of four Data Analysts and two Data Management Specialists, where you will collaborate closely with experienced colleagues and contribute to continuously strengthening our data management and data analysis capabilities.

While you will be part of the Data Management team, your day-to-day work will be closely integrated with project teams and business stakeholders. The role follows a hybrid working model with three days per week in the office and two days working from home. To support collaboration and knowledge sharing, the Data Management team works together from the office every Tuesday. The remaining office days are typically spent alongside your assigned project team and key stakeholders.

In this role, you will work closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, architects, data engineers, and BI developers. You will play a key role in translating business needs into data requirements, identifying and validating data sources, establishing source-to-target mappings, and helping ensure a common understanding of business rules, KPIs, and data definitions across business and technical teams.

A key assignment during this maternity cover will be supporting reporting initiatives within Athene, STARK Group's large-scale digital transformation programme consisting of 16 interconnected projects across the business. Working across multiple projects and stakeholders, you will help ensure that reporting needs are understood early, data dependencies are identified, and future reporting solutions are supported by reliable and well-structured data.

In this role you will:

  • Translate business needs into clear data requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation.

  • Identify, assess, and validate data sources, source-to-target mappings and data transformation logic together with business and technical stakeholders.

  • Use SQL and analytical tools to explore, analyse, and validate data while identifying patterns, discrepancies, and data quality issues.

  • Define and document KPIs, metrics, calculation logic, business rules, and data definitions to ensure a shared understanding across teams.

  • Support Agile delivery activities such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, and change assessments by providing analytical input and data expertise.

You will be successful in this role when stakeholders experience you as a trusted analytical partner who brings structure, clarity, and practical insight into complex data topics. By ensuring that requirements are actionable solutions, data mappings and definitions are well understood, and data is reliable and fit for purpose, you help create confidence in both the data and the decisions built upon it.

What You Bring

We are looking for someone who combines strong analytical skills with curiosity, drive, and a desire to make an impact from day one. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, asking questions when requirements need clarification, and balancing business value, data quality, and pragmatic delivery.

You bring:

  • Experience working as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or in a similar data-focused role, preferably within a complex or international organization

  • Strong analytical skills, including experience working with requirements gathering, data validation, data mapping data quality, KPIs, metrics, and business rules.

  • Solid SQL skills and experience analysing and validating data.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate effectively across business and technical stakeholders.

  • A structured, collaborative, and delivery-focused mindset, with the ability to work independently and drive analysis activities from clarification to implementation.

You will work with tools including Azure Databricks, Power BI, Azure DevOps, Kafka, and Open Metadata (Data catalog). To set you up for success in this role, we expect you to bring hands-on experience with several of these technologies and the ability to quickly apply your knowledge in a business context.

In addition, experience with Python, ServiceNow, Scrum or Kanban, or finance-related business processes is an advantage but not a requirement. We expect you to hold a relevant Masters degree within IT, Data & Analytics, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
