What you are going to doWe are looking for reinforcement for the central Cloud FinOps Team. The team ensures that Cloud Engineers are aware of the cloud spending and advises them on cost savings. Within NN we work with a Hybrid Cloud model: the Private Cloud with our own data servers and the Public Cloud with AWS and Azure infrastructure. You will be responsible for managing and optimizing the financial operations of the Private Cloud infrastructure (Middleware, Hardware, and Operating Systems). You will collaborate with various teams and roles like Product Managers, Product Owners, customers, and finance teams. Therefore it is important to be able to easily switch between the different players to convincingly convey your insights and advices. Additionally, you will work with your team on the generic implementation of cloud finance operations by developing shiny dashboards so the insights are also easily readable for your colleagues.
Main responsibilities:
- Analyse cloud costs: Create a clear overview of the cloud spending and automate as much as possible to create this analysis
- Capacity and demand management: How are the tools, contracts and licences being used among different departments and teams. And what is the capacity forecast? Advise and challenge the technical product owners and product managers on your findings
- Advise customers: Finding (creative) ways to get the most out of our cloud spending, like optimizing resources to run more efficiently. Analyzing the cost per unit of service or product, like figuring out the cost per user for our digital products. Notify abnormalities in the CMDB and initiate corrective actions
- Organize cost governance: Setting guidelines and processes to keep costs under control, like creating budgets and alerts to avoid overspending. Create dashboards to visualize the cost insights

Next to analyzing data, you’d like to make your work easier with technical implementations like a shiny dashboard for yourself and the customers.
Furthermore, you recognize yourself in (multiple) of the following skills and experiences:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of OS, hardware, middleware and/or cloud technologies
- Background in either finance or engineering
- Experience with Excel, PowerBI and CMDB is useful
- Experience with Databricks is a preference
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- You current live in The Netherlands.
The central Cloud FinOps Team now consists of two engineers and one Product Owner. Everyone has their own expertise (Public Cloud, Kubernetes or Private Cloud) and own stakeholder field, but you share the same goal: maintain and improve the IT environment from a cost perspective. Next to the central Cloud FinOps Team, you will work closely together with the Private Cloud Domain including 40 engineers working in 5 different teams over two locations (Den Haag and Prague).
